Suffixes are added to the end of a root or a base of a word to get a new word.

The suffixes " –ize&-yze " are verb-making suffixes. They mean "to cause or become".

1. sympathize ( also sympathise British English)

Meaning: to feel sorry for someone because you understand their problems

Example:

I sympathize, but I don’t know how to help.

( also visualise British English )

9. publicize ( also publicise

British English )

to give information about something to the public, so that they know about it :

television’s failure to publicize the unemployment issue

10. modernize ( also modernise British

English )

to make something such as a system or building more modern : The business will lose money if it doesn’t modernize.
