All rights reserved. 83.05 Cementing Products DiamondBack Reamer Shoe System Weatherford’s DiamondBack reamer shoe system is a casing shoe that overcomes wellbore obstructions to guide casing or liners to total depth (TD). The eccentric guide nose climbs ledges and negotiates obstructions while the cutting structure reams out tight spots in the wellbore. Compatible with all casing and liner hanger assemblies, the system provides highly effective protection against unexpected or anticipated casing and liner running problems. Applications Runs all sizes of casing or liners to TD by reaming out tight spots, climbing ledges, and negotiating other wellbore restrictions either through rotation or reciprocation of the pipe Ideal for running large-diameter casing or liners when little or no rotation is possible Features, Advantages and Benefits Eccentric nose design can climb ledges and negotiate other wellbore obstructions to guide casing or liners to TD in otherwise impassable conditions. Large flow-directed ports cover the entire wellbore during rotating and reaming and prevent channeling during cement pumping. Weatherford Sure-Seal 3™ float valve prevents cement backflow. Aluminum nose enables fast drillout with PDC or tri-cone bits. Nose handles impact loading and high set-down weight without damage. Where design permits, chip breaker holes in the nose assembly create small aluminum chips to avoid “birdnesting” in the bit. Where applicable, the nose connection incorporates a left-hand dovetail thread that locks in place and retains radial integrity after drillout. Rigid standoff stabilizer blades, combined with the cutting structure, clear a path for the casing or liner and most types of rigid centralizers installed above.

Cutting StructureTungsten carbide cutting structure is set in a unique diamond pattern, facilitating both rotating and reciprocating applications.

Ledgerider ProfileField-proven Ledgerider eccentric guide nose with directional flow ports helps maneuver the casing past ledges and washouts. As the tool moves forward, it climbs over obstructions. The nose is designed to withstand impact loading and high set-down weight without damage.

DrillabilityThe aluminium nose is easily drilled with both PDC and rock bits. Where design permits, chip breaker holes in the nose assembly create small aluminum chips to avoid “birdnesting” in the bit.

Aluminum Nose Integrity ShoeLock ThreadWhere applicable, the nose connection incorporates a left-hand dovetail thread that locks in place and retains radial integrity after drillout.

Optional Float ValveReamer shoes are designed to incorporate the reliable Sure-Seal 3™ valve system, providing superior erosion resistance and backpressure holding capabilities.
