Allison Vaccaro of Churchville, was named to the State Univer-sity of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Commissioner’s List and All-American Team for the fall 2015.
In order to qualify for the Commissioner’s List, a student-athlete must complete the season as a varsity athlete and must have a minimum cumu-lative GPA of 3.3 for at least three semesters at the college. The All-Aca-demic Team honors varsity athletes who have earned a minimum 3.3 GPA for the semester in which they competed.
Rachel Maier, daugh-ter of Lynne and B.J. Maier of Hamlin, has achieved dean’s list with honors with a GPA of 3.70-3.99 at The College at Brockport for fall of 2015. She is a 2009 graduate of Brockport High School and majoring in nursing.

Jordan T. Smith, son of David and Gina Smith of Hilton, has achieved the dean’s list with a GPA of 3.40-3.69 at The College at Brockport for fall of 2015. He is a 2015 graduate of Cornerstone Christian Academy.
Sallye Rose Gath-mann of Churchville has been named to the president’s list at Clemson University for the fall 2015 semester.
To be named to the president’s list, a student must achieve a 4.0 GPA. Gathmann is majoring in chemical engineering.
Macey L. Carr of North Chili has been named to the dean’s list at Clemson University for the fall 2015 semester.
To be named to the dean’s list, a student achieved a GPA between 3.50 and 3.99. Carr is ma-joring in pre-business.
Olivia Wilcox of Brock-port made the dean’s list at Wittenberg University for the fall 2015 semester. Students eligible for the dean’s list must maintain a 3.5 or higher GPA for the semester.
Tyler Schwertfeger of Hilton has been placed on the president’s list for the fall 2015 semester at the SUNY College at Cortland.
To be eligible for the president’s list, a student must be full-time and have earned at least an A in all courses.
Tyler is a sophomore majoring in biology and minoring in chemistry.
The following students have been named to the dean’s list for the 2015 fall semester at Baldwin Wal-lace University. Students who received at least a 3.6 GPA for seven or more graded hours in a single semester are named to the dean’s list. •Matthew Miller of Rochester, a graduate of Gates-Chili Senor High School majoring in pre-physical therapy and exercise science. •Alyssa Smith of Hilton, a graduate of Hilton Cen-tral High School majoring in French.
Brooke Falsion of Brockport was one of 53 SUNY Potsdam student-athletes to earn a spot on the State University of New York Athletic Confer-ence (SUNYAC) All-Aca-demic Team for the fall 2015 semester.
Falsion is a freshman member of the SUNY Pots-dam Women’s Soccer team. Players named to the all-academic team must have acquired a minimum 3.3. GPA for the fall semester.
Andrew Kita, son of Joyce and Robert Kita of Hilton, has achieved dean’s list with a GPA of 3.40-3.69 at The College at Brockport for fall of 2015. He is a 2014 gradu-ate of Hilton High School. Andrew majors in geology and water resources.

A student must earn a GPA of 3.5 or higher to receive dean’s list recogni-tion. •Kimberly Shust of Rochester is in the class of 2018 and graduated from Gates Chili High School. •Ross Pirnie of Hilton is in the class of 2017 and graduated from Hilton Central High School.

Erin McAnany, daugh-ter of Mark and Elaine McAnany of Spencerport, has been named to the dean’s list at the Rochester Institute of Technology for the fall 2015 semester. Erin majors in Video Game Design and Programming.
Brockport seventh grade Molly Kate-Brooks Smock has qualified to compete at the 2016 World Irish Dance Champion-ships in Glasgow, Scotland this March 20-27. Molly, a high honor role student at Oliver Middle School, is involved in many activities in school including serving as an officer of the Student Council, secretary of the Leo’s Club, and vice presi-dent of the Book Club.
Molly dances for Boland School of Irish Dance under the caring eye of Barbara Lussier in Greece. This marks the third straight year she has qualified for the World Championships. Her fam-ily and friends are very excited and proud of her accomplishments.

Kyle Zaffuto, son of Steve and Tammy Zaf-futo of Brockport, has been named to the fall 2015 dean’s list at St. John Fisher College. To be eligible for the dean’s list a student must have attained at least a 3.5 GPA for the semester.
Zaffuto, a senior, is a business major concentrat-ing in finance and market-ing.
Major General Patrick A. Murphy, the Adjutant General and Commander of the New York Army National Guard, an-nounces the recent service accomplishments of a local member of the New York Army National Guard in recognition of their initial commitment to serve com-munity, state and nation.
Pvt. Kyle Anderson from Hilton, completed the Army’s rigorous basic com-bat training and advanced individual training, cul-minating with a ceremony held February 21, at the Army Aviation Support Facility and Armory in Rochester to mark start of training with his new unit, Headquarters and Support Company, 642nd Support Battalion.
The ceremony marks his completion of the National Guard Recruit Sustain-ment Program, a prepar-tory training program that provides new recruits with training, lessons and skills to excel at their initial military training.
Anderson will now embark on the traditional National Guard service to state and nation as a part time Citizen Soldier.

Welch earns MEC Pitcher of the Week Honors - Notre Dame College right-hander Jake Welch was named the Mountain East Conference’s Pitcher of the Week after a fantastic performance against Findlay in Winter Haven, Florida during the February 28 weekend. Welch, a senior from Spencerport, was lights out in a 3-0 victory over Findlay on Sunday afternoon. Welch tossed a one-hit complete game shutout, and struck out eight batters to score his first victory of the season. Provided photo and information.
