Becoming a Christian...We believe that it is by grace that we are saved
through our response of faith, believing that Jesus is the Son of God, that He died to take the penalty of our sins on Himself, and that He was raised from the dead on the third day by the power of God. God calls people to believe in Jesus as their Savior, repent of sin in their life, make a confession of faith that Jesus is Lord and be joined to Christ and added to His church by being immersed (baptized) in His name. Having made this response of faith to God, all sin is forgiven and we receive the gift of God's Holy Spirit to live in us and to empower us to live for Jesus. All those who come to faith in Him may request immersion at any time.
Becoming a Member at Westside...All believers, who by faith in Jesus
have been baptized through immersion for forgiveness of sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit, may place their membership at Westside. You may express your desire to one of our elders or ministers, or mark the appropriate space on our visitor card. Members here are under the spiritual care of our shepherds and committed to service and full participation with the family of God at this congregation.

seek prayers on your behalf by going forward during the time of response or by contacting an elder, a minister, or any member of this congregation at any time.

Senior Table—Make sure to visit the Class of 2017 table in the foyer area to write a note of blessing and encouragement to our graduating seniors. These will be presented to our students during Senior Sunday (June 4th).
Student Ministry Calendar— Pick up a Student Ministry Summer Calendar today at the Guest Services Counter or in room #604. You can also access the calendar online at http://tinyurl.com/westsidecal.
Wednesday Night Youth Group—All 7th-12th grade students are invited to join us every Wednesday night from 6:15-8:00p.m. for games, snacks, hang out time and a Bible study. Schedule change: The Bible study will take place from 6:15-7p.m., with games and hangout time following from 7-8p.m.
SoCal Teen Camp “Arise"—Registration is now open for SoCal Teen Camp 2017! The dates for camp are July 16-22. To register, pick up a paper application at the Guest Services Counter or in room #604. Online registration is also available at socalteencamp.org. The on-time rate ends May 30, so make sure to sign up soon!
Summer Nights —Our Student Ministry will be getting together for dinner, swimming, and hangout time most Sunday nights this summer. We will also use this time to have separate guys’ and girls’ small groups. Devin Renfroe and Bryan Fojtasek will be leading the guys’ group and Megan Brogdon and Traci Fojtasek are leading the girls’ group. Summer Nights will go from 5-8p.m. and we’re asking teens to bring a few dollars to help cover the cost of dinner. The first Summer Night will be June 4 from 5-8p.m. at the home of Ron and Kim Nickell.
YBC Meeting—All Teens who wish to serve as staff at YBC must attend a pizza party meeting on Thursday, June 8 from 6-8p.m. in room #604. Devin Renfroe and Megan Brogdon will be sharing information about the Teen Leadership Program, expectations for staff, and answering questions about what your week at camp will look like. If you cannot attend, you must contact Devin or Megan before the start of camp to arrange an alternate time to meet and discuss staff expectations.

Salt & Light Project for May: This month’s project is focused on the HUB. We are collecting funds that will go towards prizes the kids can earn for attending class, bringing a friend, and memorizing Bible verses. Stop by the Salt & Light Booth, pick up an envelope for your contribution and return it to the office or one of the Children’s Ministry Leaders.
SAVE THE DATE - Saturday, June 3, 6p.m.! A new pre-teen group, "Route 56" will have its kick-off gathering for all students and parents of a current 4th, 5th, or 6th grader. W.O.W. Ladies bible Study and Men’s monthly breakfast will be taking a break for the summer and will return in September.

Traci needs someone to input data for the library materials, work at your own pace and schedule, and serve a need in God’s kingdom! YBC is coming up fast (June 11-17) and we are still in need of help in several areas including boys and girls counselors, archery range staff, teachers, and kitchen helpers. If you have not signed up yet, please see Bryce Patterson or John Patterson to find out how

***YBC has recently experienced a loss of many trees around the camp property, including in and around the baseball diamond and snack bar area. This has resulted in a loss of most of the shade for our campers. We now have a need for portable shade covers such as "EZ UP" and additional Igloo style water coolers to help the children stay cool and hydrated. If you can assist in the purchase of either of these items, please see Bryce Patterson or John Patterson. Thank you for the help!

Starting Wednesday, May 31, we are launching a brand-new kids’ program for Wednesday nights! If you are in preschool through 6th grade, come join the fun out in the HUB every Wednesday from 6:15-7p.m. To kick things off in style, we are having an ice cream social on May 31! Kids—come get a free preview of what this incredible summer program is all about. Parents—come learn about what to expect and how you can get involved.
