Term 4 Week 2 22nd October 2019 PBL Focus of the Week: Mac Badges Dear Parents, Carers and Community Members, Kindergarten Expo This Wednesday, 23rd October Weston Public School will be holding our annual Kindergarten Expo for families of children aending our school next year. The expo will start at 9:30am and families will have the opportunity to visit a number of stalls displaying a range of businesses and agencies from both within our school and our community. Families will also meet staff members who will play an intricate role in their childs first year at Primary School. We look forward to meeng everyone and welcoming you all into the Weston Public School community. Mac Badges Over the course of the term students who have successfully completed their Mac Contracts and who have received a leer of confirmaon will be presented with their Mac Badges. The first lot of badges were presented to Eagles, Lorikeets and Emus yesterday. Congratulaons to all those students who received theirs. Our next PBL assembly is Monday, 4th November. During this assembly students from Parrots and Pelicans who have fulfilled the criteria above will be presented with their badges. Transitioning to W.P.S Students have recently taken home the Term 4 calendar which idenfies the days and week transions are happening at W.P.S. These transions will be for both our new Kindergarten students and for those new students coming across from Stanford Merthyr. Students transioning will be involved in a number of acvies each Wednesday aſternoon starng from Wednesday Week 3 (October 30th) to Week 6 (November 20th). These transions will start at 2:30pm and conclude at 3:05pm. During this me parent sessions will also be held in the hall to inform parents of our schools programs, structures and pracces. Kiss and Leave Please remember we are a Kiss & Drop OffSchool. We encourage you to drop your children off at the school gate without entering the grounds unless you need to go to the office. GABC Tomorrow is the final day that payment can be made for the GABC. Final numbers need to be sent to the GABC so they can organise accommodation and activities. We are so excited to be able to give students this experience and thank you all for your support in encouraging them to attend. Kurri Kurri Community Festival Mrs Dickson and Miss Campbell have been working very hard with our dancers in the lead up to their performance at the Kurri Kurri Community Festival. This year the students will be meeting at the giant Kookaburra at Rotary Park, Kurri Kurri on Saturday, 26th October. Students will meet Mrs Dickson and Miss Campbell at 10:40am to perform at 11am. We wish you all the best of luck! Term 4 Calendar Term 4 is always the busiest term for events, assemblies and celebrations. Students have taken home a Term 4 calendar to assist parents, family and friends in organising their time to allow them to attend as many activities as possible. We hope to see our beautiful Weston Community at many of these events including our inaugural Christmas Afternoon. Start Smart This Thursday and Friday students will be engaged in an exciting program designed to develop their financial literacy skills. Research indicates that it is crucial to develop financial literacy skills from an early age. The Start Smart Primary program teaches these skills in a way that students can understand and enjoy and we hope our students can share and apply with you what they learn. After School Sport After School Sport will be on again this term. The first lesson started last Thursday and runs through to Week 3 Term 4. Students who have been accepted have been notified. The after school sport starts at 3:15 and finishes at 4:15. Please be prompt when picking up your child or ensure they have permission to travel home independently. P&C News P & C Meeng The next P &C meeng will be held on Monday, 11th November at 7 pm in the staffroom. Everyone is welcome to aend. Canteen Just a reminder that we cannot change large notes($20 or $50) in the Canteen Student Banking Every Thursday your child can bank as lile as 50 cents. Bus Trip The inerary for the bus trip to the Warehouses on November 3rd will come out soon. For more informaon phone Melanie Diven 0418404211. World Teacher Day This Friday, 25th October we acknowledge the hard work and dedication made by teachers at W.P.S and around the globe. Every day teachers are making a positive difference creating opportunities for students, empowering minds of young people and proudly teaching our countrys future leaders, innovators and influencers. We thank you for entrusting us with your children and allowing us to be a part of their lives.

PBL Focus of the Week: Mac Badges

Dear Parents, Carers and Community Members,

Kindergarten Expo

This Wednesday, 23rd October Weston Public School will be holding our annual

Kindergarten Expo for families of children attending our school next year. The

expo will start at 9:30am and families will have the opportunity to visit a number

of stalls displaying a range of businesses and agencies from both within our

school and our community. Families will also meet staff members who will play
