Whatever the Weather Storm Ciara and Storm Dennis have given us some-thing to talk about this week! I would like to remind you of ways in which you can check for school closures due to adverse weather. The Herefordshire Council website is kept up to date by schools, www.herefordshire.gov.ukschoolclosures as well as local radio stations. Hopefully we shall not need to check!!
Hedgehog Class News
We have had a busy half term in Hedgehog class. We have been enjoying our sensory story “The Smeds and the Smoos” by Julia Donaldson, exploring the Loobular Lake and eating the Jellyful Fruit from the Jerberrycoot.
We have also been looking at the news and learning about the weather.
We are also continuing to learn about sharing and making friends.
Ready to recycle
A visit to the recycling hub in Hereford We went to the recycling centre and we had lots of fun. We travelled by car. What we did We went on the 7th February, the Recycling Hub was next to the train station. There were lots of bottle tops in big bags and it was small and crowded. We saw teddy bears, DVD’s, books, batteries, bicycles and postcards. What are the recycled items used for? In Bath, the plastic bottle tops are used to make table tops and units. We took crisp packets and bottle tops to recycle. We cannot recycle things such as biscuit packets, popcorn packets and metal lids. We went to B&Q in Leominster and we dropped off three bags of teddy bears to be sent to children abroad because the people at the recycling centre asked us to.

Science Hunters
Science Hunters were in Robin class this week and we were learning all about coral reefs. We looked at, explored different types of coral, and learnt about the importance of coral reefs for ocean. As well as how human impact is affecting the coral reefs significantly. We then created our own coral reef in the ocean by using Minecraft.
