Local Government Act, 1960-1970 .ORDERS IN COUNCIL .

WHEREAS by section 288 of the Local GovernmentAct, 1960-1970, it shall be lawful for the Governor,on request by a Council of a Municipal District, byOrder published in the Government Gazette to de-clare any lands reserved or acquired for use by thepublic or used by the public as a street, way, publicplace, bridge or thoroughfare, under the care, con-trol, and management of the Council, or landscomprised in a private street, constructed andmaintained to the satisfaction of the Council, orlands comprised in a private street of which thepublic has had uninterrupted use for a period ofnot less than ten years, as a public street and ifthe Council thinks fit, that the Governor shalldeclare the width of the carriageway and footpathsof the public street ; and whereas the Councils men-tioned in the schedule hereto have requested thatcertain lands named and described in the saidschedule, which have been reserved for streetswithin the said Councils, be declared public streets :Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor byand with the advice and consent of the ExecutiveCouncil, doth hereby declare the said lands to bepublic streets, and such land shall, from the dateof this Order, be absolutely dedicated to the publicas streets within the meaning of any law now orhereafter in force .
