Classes of 2020 and beyond must pass ONE of the following assessments
in each subject in order to graduate HS:

- Increase the use of higher order, critical thinking questions during instruction- Offer continued support and PD for teachers on best-practice instructional strategies, effective
use of technology, and content-specific training (Google Apps, Social Emotional Learning, AP & SUPA training, Questioning/Discussion Techniques, Problem-Based Math, Differentiated Instruction…)
- Provide teachers time for learning, planning, and collaboration through PLCs (Co-Teachers, by building/department, horizontal and vertical articulation including with sending districts)
Raise academic expectations
- Provide support and accommodations for students without lowering expectations (DI, SEL)- Increase the use of Authentic Assessments- Emphasize analysis, application, problem-solving, and skills on assessments- Continue to offer engaging course electives that provide rigor and depth of knowledge to our students (ie: Sports Management through Syracuse University)- Emphasize student growth at every level (not just achievement)

- Continue in-depth analyses of data to identify strengths, weaknesses, and trends.- Continue to offer SAT and ACT boot-camps on-site for our students- Infuse more SAT/ACT vocabulary in context with student learning- Increase alignment of assessments to format and expectations of NJSLA, SAT, and ACT- Continue to emphasize the importance of all standardized tests to students and parents via district website, e-mail, student council meetings, etc. - Utilize online resources to better prepare students for standardized assessments (Khan Academy, Albert, Math IXL, Newsela) - Implement various intervention strategies and learning opportunities for struggling students and/or those testing below grade level – Mindfulness Mondays, SEL Presentations, I&RS Team, MS Teams, Knight Squad, Summer Improvement Program, NHS Tutoring, online individualized learning (Edmentum Plato, ESL Smart, Learning A-Z)…
