Active OHS’ Approach… This workshop is focused on giving people in the workplace the opportunity to consider ways to deal with the stressors at work, both physical and psychological. The content des focuses on an holistic approach to wellbeing encompassing not only ways to deal with stress responses but ways to improve physical fitness and eating habits. Aim: This workshop provides an opportunity to develop approaches and strategies for maximising our performance and wellbeing at work. Objectives: At the end of this workshop participants will be able to: Undertake stretching and warmup exercises to increase flexibility and reduce risk of injury; Define ‘stress’ and describe a contemporary model of stress; Recognise their own physiological and psychological stress responses; Identify some strategies and tips for managing their stress responses; Outline ideal approaches to diet and exercise; Consider their work/life balance and actions to improve; Seek and provide support for themselves and their colleagues when feeling ‘stressed’. 1.
