Did you know State Tech is the premier welding training facility in the Midwest? A new building, 44 brand new Lincoln welders, an industrial-sized Computer Numerical Control (CNC) plasma table, and even a robotic welder will ensure you are the employers’ choice when you search for a welding job.

Those jobs could be working on pipelines, shipbuilding yards, buildings or bridges, automobile manufacturing and repair, aerospace applications, and thousands of other manufacturing activities.

Our two-year degree is built with the intent to provide you with advanced welding skills needed to advance in your career. The curriculum is built with student success in mind and provides students with the ability to quickly obtain essential industry certifications. Students are prepared to test for certification as American Welding Society (AWS) SENSE Level I Entry Welders and/or AWS SENSE Level II Advanced Welder.

Test Scores (Combination of your best scores)

ACT Test Scores • Math 21 • Reading 18 • English 18

OR Accuplacer Test Scores • Math 84 • Reading 81 • English 81

OR Accuplacer Next Gen Test Scores • Math 250 • Reading 250 • English 251

Applicants that meet the minimum test scores and a GPA of 3.0 will be automatically admitted to the program.

If you fall below these scores don’t worry, we still encourage you to apply and your application will be reviewed.

Accuplacer Next Gen is offered Monday through Friday by appointment in our Testing Center in the Dr. Donald M. Claycomb Information Technology Center.
