What happens if it rains? We will embrace it of course, and rock the weather we have been given!

Forget your hair, forget the dress, stand in the rain and have fun!!! We tend to do this rain rocking at night. The great thing about me being with you all day is we can wait for weather to pass and gives us a much

bigger chance to have photographs taken when it isn’t raining.

It doesn’t often in the UK rain non-stop all day. When we do have a break in the weather I will suggest we go outside for portraits.

I approach your day in a documentary, relaxed way and let events unfold in front of the camera. I like to capture lots of candid moments so you can look back and remember your day forever. Below is a little run through of your day and how I approach the key events.

Bridal PrepOn the morning of your wedding day I will arrive with the bride 2 hours before she is due to leave for the ceremony. This means I can capture the final touches and take some lovely portraits of the bride and bridesmaids. So I have time for some photographs and to get ahead of you to meet the boys, ideally the bride needs to be her dress 30-40 minutes before she is due to leave.

CeremonyDuring the ceremony I will capture this discreetly without the use of flash. Please do ask if photographs are allowed during your ceremony and where I can stand. Ideally I like to be at the front so I can see your faces and reactions during the ceremony. If your service is in a church please ask your vicar/priest about where I can stand, and tell them you would like me at the front.

After the CeremonyAfter the ceremony is when I will usually organise your family group photographs (top tips for Groups on the next page). Following the group photographs I will mingle with your guests and capture candid images for you. 20 minutes before you are due to sit down for dinner I will come and find you for your first portrait session, this will end in time for you to be announced into your wedding breakfast.

The Big Day

Meal I will often be asked if I need feeding. This is not required or expected I am happy to bring some sandwiches, or if you speak to your caterers they will often provide a meal for me.Or some of my couples pop me on a table with their guests so I can keep an eye on what is going on in the room and be ready for any photo moments.

Speeches I try and be as discreet as possible during speeches and capture lots of reactions, and laughter.

Second Portrait sessionDuring the summer months this second portrait session is often when we take the majority of our portraits, as this is when the light is as its best and most flattering. I like to take you on a little adventure its really important me that you have fabulous, amazing and unique wedding photographs. I will scout locations before your day, and if your venue is in the countryside I will often pop you in my big car and take you to a pretty field or scenic location. Don’t worry these are never more than a ½ a mile from your venue. I have some examples of these photographic adventures on the next few page and their locations to give you some ideas. Or during the winter and late autumn we get that golden light earlier in the day and the evenings are dark so we take advantage of this and take some pretty night time images.

Party time! Now its time to let your hair down, cut that cake, and hit the dance floor for your first dance. I capture all of this, and then leave you to your night around 9pm.

This photograph was taken just behind Hannah and Luke’s wedding venue (Priston Water Mill). When I arrived in the morning I noticed an

incredible cornfield, I knew I wanted to take them into, I went off to find the gate into it but there was one small issue between the venue and the gate, the mill stream! I wasn’t sure what Hannah and Luke were going to say about the idea of going for a paddle on their wedding day but as I

mention in this booklet I always like to just ask you. I asked Hannah and Luke about going into the field but through the

stream and without any hesitation they were instantly really excited by it! The stream was really shallow and I had a pair of wellies in my car.

Hannah popped my wellies on, Luke took his shoes and socks off and we headed over. We created some incredible photos in the corn field, and

well what happened on the way back in the stream was just truly magical.

We did’t take any portraits on their day until the sun was lower and the weather was cooler. To give you an idea about portrait timings and the

time of year. This was taken at 7.20 pm 20th June 2014

We just had our bottle of fizz and went through the pictures! They’re fantastic, as we knew they would be!

You are so amazing at what you do – you can tell not just from the photos, but

from how happy and comfortable everybody was around you. So many people have told us how much they loved you and you were a pleasure to have at our

wedding. The results speak for themselves. Hannah and Luke

This photograph was taken just minutes before a heavy down pour. I could see we were about to have a big rain shower and I wanted to take Josie and Dan’s portraits before it rained, so I popped Josie and Dan in my car and we quickly headed up to this beautiful corn field just outside their venue. The ground was a little damp, from an

earlier rain shower but Josie totally rocked it and didn’t mind her dress being on the floor for this gorgeous shot!

As we were taking their portraits and a beautiful double rainbow appeared! I love this photo so much. We were so lucky with the weather and I can’t thank Josie and Dan enough for trusting me

so I could create this image for them.

Claire and Matts wedding reception was at Claire’s parents house in rural Herefordshire. Their church was over the bridge you see pictured.

After their speeches, Claire and Matt jumped in my car and we went on a little adventure to two quick locations, firstly the beautiful barley field, then

around the corner to the bridge over the river Wye. Both locations were within half a mile of their reception. I am sure you will agree it was so worth the little adventure, such amazing locations. Claire popped my wellies on and climbed down the steep river bank by the bridge, she made it looks so

easy even in her beautiful gown.

This was taken at 8.10 - 8.20 pm 5th July 2014.

Beauty is sometimes found in slightly unusual places. Antonia and Matthew married in the beautiful town of Knutsford, Cheshire on a day of a big spring town festival so the streets were full of bunting and peo-

ple, which was fantastic for photographs but I wanted to get them away from this too. We headed up a tiny little dark alleyway, which

opened out to this beautiful secret little green space in the heart of the town. The light was gorgeous and it was so peaceful.

Sophie and Adam married on an autumn day in October, it started with heavy rain during the ceremony

but as soon as we came out of church we were treated to a magical autumnal afternoon. I had finished all of their main portraits when just before the speeches

and while we were waiting for everyone to take their seats, we had an incredible golden 10 minutes of light,

the kind you only get on those magic autumn days. I wasn’t too sure if Sophie and Adam would be up for popping out just before their speeches and delaying

them by 5 minutes, but they were happy to and it was so worth it!

Truly magic light.

SunsetsI love to capture a sunset for you! This was taken of Lisa and John, just before their pudding was served on the top table. Often you will finish your main meal while others have just had it served so you will have

10 minutes to nip out if we have some gorgeous light or a sunset that can’t be missed.

Page 27: Welcomeinfo

SparklersThis shot involved you standing super still in a dark part of

your venue in the cold for 30 seconds while I run around you like a mad woman with sparkers!! But it is totally worth it, it

makes amazing “printed big on the wall” images.

Page 28: Welcomeinfo
Page 29: Welcomeinfo

During the winter it will usually be dark after your speeches, and we can take advantage of this! Here are a few images of some of my winter couples second portrait sessions in the

dark. This image was taken on New Years Eve! We braved the freezing cold night and jumped into golf buggies to go down the drive to the entrance of The Mere, Cheshire.

Page 30: Welcomeinfo

They don’t need to be stressful and take hours! There is a really fab simple way of providing you with relaxed group shots, but done super quickly

and painlessly. This is by doing them in a sequence. We work together to make it really fast and fun,

all I need is for you to tell me all about your family and the dynamics. Then if you could tell all of your family that you as a couple would like them in a

photo, and that while the photos are being taken it is important that they listen to me and don’t go anywhere. This sounds a little strict but I promise if everyone is near by and can hear me the whole

thing will be over so fast they will be back to sipping champers in no time!

I will find all of the family we need in a photo and get them to stand near me, I will then add and

remove family to each photo. The only reason things will get complicated or take a long time is when we lose a family member who has just nipped to the bar

etc. Here in example of some family group photographs this took me 15 minutes in total as all

of the family members where next to me.

The big one!The photo is really easy to organise as we simply need everyone at the wedding involved! I will usually get a groomsman to help me round everyone up. I will then get nice and high either from a window or ladder and get everyone looking my way.

Page 33: Welcomeinfo

confetiiIf you would like confetti at your wedding, I suggest you provide it for your guests. I find that many of them forget to bring it. This also means we can include everyone in the confetti throwing which is really fun and produces great photographs.

Page 34: Welcomeinfo

Bridal PartyI like to make the bridal partyphotographs really fun I will get a mixture of formal and informal photos for you.

“Thank you for the gorgeous pictures- just had a little sob over the first look one. And I’m totally in love with the cornfield picture- so gorgeous!!

We don’t really know where to start with thanking you for everything you did for us on Saturday. All the passion, effort and time you put into capturing our photos

really means the world to us both. From having to put socks on me to coordinating our very drunken friends to hold lights up- honestly, you went above

and beyond what we could ever have expected from you. It felt like we had a friend by our sides taking the photos, you really put us both at ease all day....

Thank you so much.”Jenni and Ben
