SULLIVAN FAMILY GALLERYDENISE STEWART & PAT PITINGOLO: T42, 24T Denise Stewart and Pat Pitingolo are two artists that have fallen under the influence of tea. They both use stained tea fiber, as well as other remnants of deconstructed tea bags in their artwork, blurring the line between textile and fine art. By using what is thrown away or overlooked, Denise and Pat give their viewers new appreciation for the beauty that is all around us. DIANNE BOLDMAN EDUCATION GALLERYELIZA WING: MEMORY SERVESEliza Wing offers a series of oil paintings and 3-D box constructions based on her lifelong love of Maine and her summer sojourns on Monhegan Island; a longtime haven and inspiration for artists since the early 1900’s.

DIANNE BOLDMAN EDUCATION GALLERYPATTERN & DESIGNArchitect Christopher Alexander said, “In short, no pattern is an isolated

entity. Each pattern can exist in the world only to the extent that it is supported by other patterns.” The work in BAYarts 2016 spring exhibition Pattern & Design seeks to emphasize that through connection and integration of patterns, intention occurs. This invitational show gives artists the opportunity to document and exhibit the patterns and visible threads that run in and through their work. Curators Shari Wilkins & Darrelle Anne Centuori

VOLUNTEER ON A PEDESTAL: KATY WILSONThe multi-talented, multi- tasking, multi-awesome Katy Wilson is one of those dream volunteers: when she offers to take on yet another task we have to pinch ourselves at the good fortune that she found her way to us. She first came to BAYarts as a student: taking classes in just about

every medium we offer: painting, jewelry, ceramics. She must have been sitting in class daydreaming about how she could help organize that awesome yet overstocked reference library, because the next thing we knew, it was done. Check. An avid gardener, she became to liaison between the garden gurus at Maple Leaf and BAYarts volunteer garden team. Along the way, she had the idea to collect material about the plants to educate visitors and staff. Check. Then she volunteered to be the studio manager (pinch, pinch) and along the way set up a system for disposing of toxic art materials. A master recycler, she’s in the process of cleaning out neglected storage areas; and by the way, when we had issues with swallows nesting in our window shades? Who you gonna call? Katy, not only knew the nesting habits of swallows, but the humane and effective way to deter them. Check, check, check. Is there anything she can’t do? Nope…cant think of anything. We love you for your focus, your devotion and you’re pretty fun to be around too!
