*Litany Matt Cleary
One: The earth, in every shape and form, broadcasts the glory of God! All: The mountains, reaching to the heavens, announce the power and majesty of God who is our
help in times of trouble. One: The solid ground beneath our feet offers stability and comfort, giving firm foundation for our lives. All: Fertile fields bring forth grains and fruit, sustaining our lives. One: Rubies and sapphires shine bright, adorning the earth with their beauty. All: The hills and mountains, fields and valleys, jewels and common stone, all the earth testifies to
God’s faithfulness and love. One: Let us pray…
*Unison Prayer of Invocation Matt Cleary
Faithful God, your promises are solid as a rock. Your steadfast love outlasts the mountains. Your compassion is more sure than the ground beneath our feet. The whole earth bears witness to Your covenant of peace that holds us secure in your care forever. At worship today we put our trust in you. Amen

Psalm 121
David Hurd
Cantor and Congregation
I lift up mine eyes to the hills—from where will my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. God will not let your foot be moved; The Lord who keeps you will not slumber. God who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
Cantor and Congregation
The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade at your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all evil; God will keep your life. The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time and forever more.
Cantor and Congregation
A Reading from The Old Testament Rev. David W. Johnson Rev. Elizabeth B. Johnson
One: The elements of our faith include the earth, the ground that holds us steady. All: Our faith rests on the solid ground of God’s unfailing love.
Isaiah 54:9-14a This is like the days of Noah to me: Just as I swore that the waters of Noah would never again go over the earth, so I have sworn that I will not be angry with you and will not rebuke you. For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but my steadfast love shall not depart from you, and my covenant of peace shall not be removed, says the Lord who has compassion on you.
O afflicted one, storm-tossed, and not comforted, I am about to set your stones in antimony, and lay your fountains with sapphires. I will make your pinnacles of rubies, your gates of jewels, and all your wall of precious stones. All your children shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall be the prosperity of your children. In righteousness you shall be established.
Response
One: God’s covenant of peace makes itself known when we listen to the earth. All: God’s peace is a precious jewel to be treasured.
Anthem "Creation Will Be At Peace" Anna Laura Page
Community Quartet Chancel Choir
In the holy mountain of the Lord all war and strife will cease; In the holy mountain of the Lord creation will be at peace.
The wolf will lie down with the lamb, the cow and bear will feed, Their young will play together; a little child will lead.
The leopard and goat will graze, the lion will feed on straw, They will war no more; a child will lead them all.

Pastoral Prayer and The Lord's Prayer Rev. Elizabeth B. Johnson
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day, our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen
The Great Thanksgiving
Invitation to Offering Matt Cleary
We who live secure in God’s peace and who know the joy of God’s presence, know that it is more precious than jewels. Our offerings help Community Church share God’s covenant of peace with all who are storm-tossed and not comforted, so that all people experience God’s steadfast love and unending compassion. When we give, whether online, through mail, or in the offering baskets in chapel or offering boxes by the doors of the sanctuary, we make God’s covenant of peace a reality for ourselves and for others.
Musical Offering "Earth Song" Frank Ticheli
Community Quartet Chancel Choir
Sing, Be, Live, See... This dark stormy hour, The wind, it stirs.
The scorched earth cries out in vain:
O war and power, You blind and blur. The torn heart cries out in pain.
But music and singing Have been my refuge, And music and singing Shall be my light.
A light of song Shining strong: Alleluia! Through darkness, pain and strife,
I'll Sing, Be, Live, See...
Peace.
Unison Prayer of Dedication Matt Cleary
Everlasting God, your love extends from one end of our earth to the other; from the tops of the mountains to the depths of the sea; from the beginning of time to its eternal end. Use these offerings and use us to share your peace far and wide. Amen

"Elements of Faith" Summer Preaching Series: It is easy to see the wonder of God's creation all around us and during the summer months we hope to deepen our appreciation of the incredible design, organization, and the creativeness of God. By delving into the elements that make up our world, we offer an opportunity to celebrate the power, wisdom, order, and ingenuity of our Creator. Join us this summer as we cultivate our understanding of the earth, fire, water, wind, light, and stars.

Jazz Vespers: A Contemporary Riff on an Ancient Prayer Service. Jazz Vespers began in New York City in the 1960s as a concept worship service and outreach ministry It was designed as a service of prayer and jazz for folks who couldn't make it to Sunday morning services after playing late night gigs on Saturday night.
In this tradition, our jazz vespers service is an eclectic mix of prayer, spoken verse, ambient art, and live jazz. Through these elements, we walk through an ancient service of prayer (vespers) in a creative, informal, and multisensory way. Please join us for our first Jazz Vespers worship "Praise for all things created" on Sunday, June 27 at 7:00 p.m. in the church courtyard.
