Wait!! Credits?? -I’m still confused• Each class is worth 5 credits per semester OR 10 credits for the whole
year. All classes are year long!
• If you pass with a D- or higher you will receive 5 credits per semester.
• However, 4 year colleges only accept a C- or higher.
• An F receives NO credit… ZERO
• All students must have 6 classes - some exceptions in 12th grade.
• 7 classes is max.

4 Year COLLEGE REQUIREMENTS: What is A-G?!
● The following “A-G” Requirements must be completed with a grade of "C-" or higher in order for students to be eligible to apply for the UC and CSU colleges in California (Not for Community Colleges). Out-Of-State and Private Colleges have their own requirements
● The NEW graduation requirements align with A-G requirements ● Minimum GPA required for UC applications: 3.0● Minimum GPA required for CSU applications: 2.0
● Please visit our Guidance webpages or the College & Career Center for more
detailed information about the application process! We will revisit this information in more detail during 10th/11th grade information nights and classroom visits.

Graduation vs. “A-G” College Requirements
How do I get on to Schoolloop?
•You need your student’s ID number (can be found on their student ID card, class schedule, or call the Main Office
•Parents: you also need an email to sign up. See handout.

• It is important that you AND your student get in the habit of checking School Loop MESSAGES! We send out important information here! (Scholarship Opportunities, Important Reminders, etc)
Academic Assistance for students:Homework Center:Monday through Thursday the library is open after school from 2:45- 3:45pm. A teacher will be present and available to help with homework.
Writing Workshop: Every Thursday during Study Hall with Mr. Becker from (RM 17B)
Integrated Math 1 Credit Recovery: Must be referred by teacher, 0 or 7th period.
Study Hall: Students should be in one of their own classes, preferably one that they need additional help in.

• Family Connection allows your student to:• Get involved in the planning and advising process – Build a resume,
complete online surveys, and manage timelines and deadlines for making decisions about colleges and careers
• Research colleges – Compare GPA, standardized test scores, and other statistics to actual historical data from our school for students who have applied and been admitted in the past
• Research careers – Research hundreds of careers and career clusters, and take career assessments
• Create plans for the future – Create goals and to-dos, and complete tasks assigned by the school to better prepare your student for future college and career goals. (Classroom visits)
• 9th graders: Focus on self exploration. Personality assessments to assist students in exploring their strengths and different themes.
