Meet your Library Media Center

staff:

The Library Media Center opens every school

day at 7:15 a.m. and closes at3:30 p.m.

Students are encouraged to use the

Media Center for study and quietreading before and after

school.

Library Passes

• Students may use the library during study halls or classes upon presenting a SIGNED

PLANNER by their teachers or other staff members.

• Students must present their planner in person, sign in at

the circulation desk, and remain in the library for the

designated period.

To Enter the Media Center on your

Lunch Period:You will need signed

permissionfrom a member of the

cafeteria supervision staff. You may enter at the

beginning of lunch or during the period, however - you

MUST STAY FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE LUNCH

PERIOD.

VERTICAL/VOCATIONAL FILE

• The colored drawers behind us are filled with articles, pamphlets and current information on a number of current topics and/or occupations. These may be checked out on an overnight basis.

SOUTH READING ROOMStudents will find

our collection of non-fiction materials arranged

according to the Dewey Decimal System in the Stack Area.

• Drama• Short Stories• Magazines• Indexes

ANTIPHONARY• One of many

pieces of art that is displayed in the Media Center is the Antiphonary.

• This book was produced by hand in a European monastery during the Middle Ages.

LIBRARY COPY MACHINE

• Students can have copies of materials made in the Library.

• Cost is 10 cents per page.

• Library staff will make your copies.

• Due to copyright laws no music is copied.

There is to be no Food, Candy,

Gum, or Drink in the Media Center.

Please keep these

snacks in your

locker.

Bookbags, backpacks and purses are not allowed in the library. 7th hour bags are to be left in the front

of the library upon arrival.

STUDENT I.D. CARDS

For Library Check-out

Students must present a Current School Year,

PRESENTABLE ID Cardwhen checking out or

renewing Library materials.

OVERDUE MATERIALS & FINES

A fine of 10 cents per item per day is charged for

overdue materials. Fines are charged only on days that

school is in session.

OVERDUE/FINE SLIP

Overdue/Fine slips are distributed on

Monday. If you receive one, please come to the Media Center as soon as

possible.

Library use and Library Obligations

If you have a Library Fine and/or any Library overdue

materials you may notenter the Library before or after school, nor will you be allowed to use the computers or check

out materials until the obligations have been fulfilled.

Lost or damaged materials must be reported to a

member of the Library staffimmediately. If you have lost

a book,you are responsible for the

cost of thebook and any fine.

These obligations must be taken care

of before the end of the current semester.

MEDIA CENTER COMPUTERRULES AND

REGULATIONS

You must receive permission from the Library staff

before ANY Personal

Electronic Device may be turned on

and/or used!

5. DO NOT give your password or private information to other

students…you are responsible for your files.

3. Students may not use computers for social networking, playing games or e-mailing.

4. Students will be asked to leave an Internet site if it is inappropriate

1. Students must have a signed Internet policy on file with the

school.

2. A student may not use the computers if he/she has any overdue materials

and/or a library fine.

PRINTING MATERIALS

If you are printing information for a CLASS from the Black&White printer, there is NO charge. B&W prints

for personal use are 10 cents.

If you are printing from the ColorPrinter there is a charge of 25 centsper page for school and/or personal

copies.

PLEASE CHECK TO SEE WHICH PRINTER YOU ARE PRINTING TO BEFORE YOU PRINT!!! IF

YOU’RE NOT SURE, PLEASE ASK A MEMBER OF THE LIBRARY

STAFF FOR ASSISTANCE!

IMPORTANTWHEN USING THE COMPUTERS IN THE

MEDIA CENTER…

DO NOT SAVE MATERIAL ON THE

HARD DRIVE…SAVE UNDER YOUR STUDENT ID

NUMBER, A SHARED FOLDER, A REMOVABLE

STORAGE DEVICE, OR TO YOUR WEBSITE ACCOUNT.

• Entries must be submitted by March 1
