Recognition of Prior Learning - RPL

What is RPL? • RPL is an assessment process to recognise your prior learning which

avoids unnecessary training.

• For example: you may have worked, volunteered, trained or have other education which gives you skills and knowledge equivalent to a unit/s of study offered in our courses.

• Basically why sit in class if you have evidence of the skills. If this could be you, talk to your teacher in the first instance.

Contact the RPL team on 1300 RPLExpress or email [email protected]

13 72 48 tafebrisbane.edu.au

How does RPL differ from credit transfer?

Credit Transfer This is the process whereby formally documented qualifications/units of study completed through another RTO, are recognised as equivalent to your proposed study. RPL Even if you have never formally studied or trained in a particular area, you may have gained knowledge and skills through work or volunteering. This is the experience recognised through RPL. Open Learning Don’t forget if something changes and you are unable to continue studying in class, consider TAFE Queensland Brisbane online learning.

You need to apply for a credit transfer in the first 5 weeks to be eligible for any refund of fees
