A Candlelight Memorial Ser-

vice was held in the Hospice

Chapel on Sunday 19 May.

The lives of 51 beautiful souls were cele-brated. The staff and volunteers created a most beautiful, sacred ceremony for fam-ily and friends. Thank you all for such a memorable occasion.

This kind of Palliative Care Service, created in love and with the participation of all, is what sets Hopewell apart as a place of hospitality, healing and grace.

Hopewell Outreach Service is now providing care in the community for those who are palliative and who need emotional, social and spiritual support.

The Women’s Group has 11-17 members each Friday—Woman Power!

Paradise Kids has placed 90 children in Term 2 Grief and Loss Support Groups, with 75 parents and carers in their groups, and 58 volunteers. What an effort!

PK Volunteers contribute over 2,100 hours per term or the equivalent of 54 full-time 40-hour working weeks! Wonderful Buddy Work!

The Illness Support Holiday House has had 2 families so far this year, with 6 on the waiting list.

The Skiller Family, whose daughter died 2weeks after visiting the Holiday House has donated $200 to PK and will contribute quarterly—what a beautiful grace-filled family. Farewell Miette.

Please sign up for workplace giving for Hopewell or PK, or for $10.00 be-come a Friend of Hopewell. Your regular donation is needed to help us con-tinue our excellent services through Hopewell Hospice and Paradise Kids.

We are building up a support base of people willing to donate $20.00 per month, by Direct Deposit or Ezi-debit. This is classic “People Power.” See the last page of this Newsletter or go to www.paradisekids.org.au.

Farewell to our beloved community member, Robert Hannon who brought his questing mind into our Worship and Spirituality group for many years. Lillian and Robert, we love you both always.

Christmas in July Hospice Resident, Glenys Klementsen, planned a Xmas in July but didn’t live to fulfil her dream.
