AICE General Paper
AICE Global Perspectives
AP Capstone: Seminar
AICE = Advanced International Certificate of Education
Exam 1: AICE General Paper
Students will have a sit down exam where they need
to write two essays in two hours. Their essays will be
about 500-600 words a piece. They will not be given
stimulus material. They will only have what is in their
head to create examples.
The essay topics range from everything to
environment to technology to politics to literature.
At home: watch & talk about the news, CNN10,
TheSkimm, podcasts…
Exam 2: AICE Global Perspectives
Part 1: Written Exam
Part 2: Individual Research Essay
Part 3: Team Project
These products will be taken from AP Seminar’s final
and tweaked to meet the needs of AICE Global
Perspectives final.
Exam 3: AP Seminar
Part 1: Team Project & Presentation
Part 2: Research-Based Essay & Presentation
Part 3: Written Exam
This class connects with AP Research, which is the second half of the AP Capstone program.
If students take these two classes, plus four additional AP Courses and Exams they will able to earn the AP Capstone
FYI:
A few weeks ago your students brought home 3 textbooks for
this class.
Help to ensure they are home where they can be used when
we start the big research projects.
They do not need them in class because we have class sets!!
They are valuable resources for when I can not give direct
help.
Grading Procedures
Assignments are due at the beginning of class.
If a student is absent they have one day to make up an assignment.
Students can set up a time to stay after or come before school to meet with me.
One day late = 25% penalty
Two days late= 40% penalty
Up to one week= 50% penalty
