Welcome to the First Edition of the Velo29-Altura
Bishop Auckland Cycle Races
An exciting new event for 2014!
Velo29 have worked closely with Durham County Council, Bishop Auckland Town Council
and the Bishop Auckland & Shildon Area Action Partnership to deliver this new event.
The area is extremely motivated to have this race in Bishop Auckland. It’s a great Town to
stage a Criterium however it is their first. We are very proud to bring a full night of racing
and cycling fun to the Town, we believe will be well supported by the local public.
As well as the racing we have some spectator entertainment in trade stands, BMX displays,
roller racing and some local clubs and groups so do please drag along the friends and
family to enjoy this event as well as watch you race. The site will be open from 17:00 –
21:30.
The support from the local councils for this event is tremendous and we hope it’s an event
we can run for many years to come. It needs your support as riders, there are not enough
events like this on closed roads with a good prize list so show your support, encourage
others to ride and turn up and enjoy a great evening!
