SURVEY/ENCUESTAThis week, you will receive a letter in the mail, from Fr. Vince, discussing the need to form a solution for the future of our South End parishes. Fr. Vince is asking all parishioners to complete a one-question survey to help compile solutions to be discussed then presented to Bishop Brennan. The question being asked is:
Knowing the situation of the Catholic churches in the South End of Columbus (1 priest for the entire South End of town), how will you preserve the faith in the South End? What would be a solution?
You can complete the survey online by visiting www.surveymonkey.com/r/2TW5FSD (English) or www.surveymonkey.com/r/25RKTD7 (Spanish). You can submit a hardcopy response to the administrative office at 277 Reeb Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43207 or email your solution(s) to [email protected]. Online submissions and hardcopy responses must be received by July 31, 2020. Survey responses will be discussed during the next joint parish council meeting on August 10, 2020.

FROM THE PRIESTIn the gospel this weekend, we hear a prayer from Jesus, and it tells us much about His relationship with God. It tells us that God is Father and Lord of earth and heaven and creator of everything He has made. His love is also pointed to every person made in His image and likeness, which means He is the source of all human life! And it is through Jesus Christ, we have access to God the Father, and we know Him personally!
We hear also about a yoke; the Jewish people would use the image of a yoke to express complete submission to God. Yokes were made to fit oxen and other animals so they could pull together.
Jesus also says that His "burden is light." No burden is too heavy when it's given and carried in love. Jesus offers a spiritual kingdom that offers joy, peace, removal of sins and eternal life!
The yoke of Christ's kingdom frees us from the "weight" of sin and gives us a "weight" of love and glory in exchange.
May we embrace this "yoke" that frees us from sin, and trust in God's love and submit ourselves totally to His plan for our lives!• Pray for Pope Francis and those who lead the Church,
especially Bishop Brennan• Pray for those affected by natural disasters and
violence (COVID-19 pandemic; violence due to racism; India)
• Pray for Robert White, Jr. and Greg Wolf, who passed away last week; may they rest in peace.
• St. Mary's had a Finance Council Meeting; details will be in the bulletin

DEL SACERDOTEEn el evangelio de este fin de semana, escuchamos una oración de Jesús, y nos dice mucho acerca de su relación con Dios. Nos dice que Dios es Padre y Señor de la tierra y del cielo y creador de todo lo que ha hecho. ¡Su amor también apunta a cada persona hecha a su imagen y semejanza, lo que significa que Él es la fuente de toda vida humana! ¡Y es a través de Jesucristo, que tenemos acceso a Dios el Padre, y lo conocemos personalmente!
También escuchamos acerca de un yugo; el pueblo judío usaría la imagen de un yugo para expresar sumisión completa a Dios. Los yugos se hicieron para adaptarse a los bueyes y otros animales para que puedan unirse.
Jesús también dice que su "carga es ligera". Ninguna carga es demasiado pesada cuando se entrega y se lleva en el amor. ¡Jesús ofrece un reino espiritual que ofrece gozo, paz, eliminación de pecados y vida eterna!
El yugo del reino de Cristo nos libera del "peso" del pecado y nos da un "peso" de amor y gloria a cambio.
¡Podemos abrazar este "yugo" que nos libera del pecado, y confiar en el amor de Dios y someternos totalmente a Su plan para nuestras vidas!• Ore por el Papa Francisco y aquellos que dirigen la
Iglesia, especialmente el Obispo Brennan.• Ore por los afectados por desastres naturales y
violencia (pandemia COVID-19; violencia por racismo; India)
• Ore por Robert White Jr. y Greg Wolf, quien falleció la semana pasada; Que descansen en paz.

PROMISE ON PARSONS UPDATE/ACTUALIZACIÓN DE PROMESA EN PARSONSThe executive committee for Promise on Parsons had a meeting last week to discuss how we move forward during this continued pandemic. We are thankful for our volunteers and hope they will continue to help and support this ministry as we make sure we are safe while serving others. Due to COVID-19 concerns we are continuing to follow our social distancing plan which includes:
• We will continue to feed the homeless on first and last Fridays.• We only serve to-go bags of food.• We collect food that is prepackaged and pre-prepared.• We will not cook on site.• We will assemble to-go bags in the St. Lads parking lot using no more than 5 people.• We will use only 2 people to set up and distribute to-go bags.• Masks and gloves will be worn at all times in preparing food, bags and during distribution.
We will continue this plan through September at which time we will revisit based on guidelines at that time. The list of persons responsible for coordinating meal days from July to September:

El comité ejecutivo de Promesa en Parsons tuvo una reunión la semana pasada para discutir cómo avanzamos durante esta pandemia continua. Estamos agradecidos por nuestros voluntarios y esperamos que continúen ayudando y apoyando este ministerio mientras nos aseguramos de que estemos seguros mientras servimos a los demás. Debido a las preocupaciones de COVID-19, continuamos siguiendo nuestro plan de distanciamiento social que incluye:
