JULY/AUG 2017 WELCOME TO THE 2017 FALL SEASON! 1 by JUDI MILLER Welcome one and all to CBS Studio Center! We are very glad you will be calling the Studio home and look forward to a successful fall season. I like to think of the shows on the lot as one big happy family, so I usually start off by stringing the productions together to tell a little story……… We are so happy you have moved into our community. To Tell the Truth, things have been a bit crazy and Unreal here lately, but before we resort to drastic measures, such as calling in the Seal Team, I think the solution may be to find new leadership, perhaps a mayor of sorts. The Wisdom of the Crowd, who obviously all excelled in AP Bio class, has determined that a good candidate for The Mayor of our little city would be Roseanne. I hear her Big Brother is a Man With a Plan, a former athlete voted MVP, and The Talk is that he knows a bunch of guys who may be Nobodies, but they have the ways and means to rig the election. If she wins, the cops of Brooklyn Nine Nine will certainly have their hands full! I mean, let’s face it, she’s not exactly your typical American Housewife. They will need some really strong coffee and Superior Donuts in order to make it through their shifts. To top things off, both ET and The Insider just leaked the news that The Bachelorette has snuck onto the lot and has commandeered dressing rooms 9J, K, L for three handsome final rose prospects. They say if she can’t decide whom to choose she plans to ditch it all and try her luck on Hip Hop Squares. Needless to say, it should be nothing less than exciting around here! DID YOU KNOW? The Studio Center lot offers many amenities you may not be aware of. Did you know we have a gym, a car wash, coffee shop, and numerous other conveniences? Here’s a list of services we provide to help accommodate your busy schedule. CARLA’S CAFÉ (x5692), operated by JCS Catering, serves up a delicious breakfast and lunch daily from 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. The JCS crew can also take care of your cast and crew feeds, table reads and production meetings. They are happy to supplement your stage craft services as well. TAKE 5 COFFEE BAR (x5979), located in the lobby of the Administration Building, is a member of the “We Proudly Brew Program” and sells authentic Peet’s beverages. You’re going to want to try their cold brew during the hot summer months! They also offer a variety of snacks to satisfy the munchies. SUPPLY STATION (x5001), a miniature Home Depot, is located just inside the Colfax Avenue gate. They carry a complete inventory of expendables, electrical supplies, hardware, lumber and steel. You can also find a variety of logo merchandise, such as caps and tee shirts, as well as an assortment of snacks and beverages. Clearly, no one goes hungry on this lot. NATIONWIDE AUTO DETAILERS (x5042) is located the Sater Parking Structure, and provides complete wash and detailing services. They will even pick up your dirty car from your parking space in the morning and return it, clean and shiny, by the end of the day. ELAINE’S BEAUTY STUDIO (x6157) is adjacent to Stage 9. Guys and girls can stop by for a cut, color, or perm, and perhaps a mani- pedi. JOE’S GYM (x5458), offers memberships exclusively to Studio Center employees and tenants. For a nominal fee of just $12 per month you can get in shape and work off the stress of another crazy day! Located in the gym are men and women’s locker rooms complete with showers. by JUDI MILLER

Welcome one and all to CBS Studio Center! We are very glad you will be calling the Studio home and look forward to a successful fall season. I like to think of the shows on the lot as one big happy family, so I usually start off by stringing the productions together to tell a little story………

We are so happy you have moved into our community.

Mark your calendars for our annual CHLA Blood Drive! On Thursday, August 10th the Studio will host a blood drive for the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA). The blood collected makes an immediate impact on the lives of children in need, and goes a long way toward helping replenish the CHLA community’s depleted reserves.

Last year, we collected a total of 34 precious units of blood. This translates into helping 3 kids per blood donation which in turn helped in saving up to 102 lives!

KEEPING AN “EYE ON THE ENVIRONMENT!”

On Thursday, June 15th, CBS Strategic Sourcing and CBS Studio Center hosted the 8th Annual Eye on the Environment event in Studio City, CA.

Leslie Moonves opened the event by reaffirming the CBS commitment to the environment and encouraging all in attendance “to not only act today, but also to pass these ideals along to future generations.” Tom Hogan, Senior Vice President and Chief Procurement Officer, introduced 1, 2, 3, GREEN - Easy Steps to an Eco-Friendly Office, as an element of expanding CBS Eye on the Environment into an ongoing focus on carbon footprint reduction.

Nearly 500 attendees from CBS and other entertainment studios filled Stage 22 to network

and discuss the most exciting green products, technologies, and initiatives in the entertainment industry. This year, 48 companies showcased their sustainable products and services in the areas of office, production, facilities, and community involvement. New this year was the CBS Sustainability Experience in which CBS employees participated in experiential activities from our preferred suppliers as part of the new 1, 2, 3, GREEN campaign.

The event was organized by Donna Osiri, Vice President of Strategic Sourcing, Audrey Vinant-Tang, Manager of Supplier Sustainability, and Sandra Reed-Funnell, Manager COE Administration & Client Services.
