Fellow Shooters-
Welcome to the 2014 Sunflower Shootout, hosted by Capital City Gun Club and the Capital City Pistol Shooters. Thank you for supporting the shooting sports and making it possible for us to have another sanctioned IDPA match in Kansas. The match would not be possible without the help of all of the staff,please let them know you appreciate their efforts.
We have been fortunate as a new match to have received many donations for the prize table. There is a list of our sponsors in this match book. Please support these sponsors and let them know you appreciate their support.
The range will be open on Friday October 10th for setup and for the staff to shoot our match. Feel free to stop by the range and view the stages once the staff has finished shooting the match. We will check people into the match after the staff has finished shooting.
Enclosed is the schedule of events, other information you will need, and the stage diagrams. We look forward to meeting you all at the match. Shoot safe.

Directions to the range
The Range is located at 12200 NW 4th Street Topeka, KS. It is on the north side of 4th between West Union Road and Docking Road. If coming from the west on I-70 exit at West Union Road, head north to 4th then east to the range. If coming from the east on I-70 ext at Valencea Road, head straight (west) onto the Frontage road, it will turn north and become Docking Road. Follow Docking road to NW 4th street and turn west onto 4th Street to the range.
2014 Sunflower Shootout Match Briefing
Cold Range - Capital City Gun Club (CCGC) is a cold range. All firearms must remain unloaded and magazine wells empty. Firearms will be cased or holstered at all times while on the range. Handle your firearms only at the designated safe areas or on the line as directed by a safety officer. Having a loaded firearm at any time other then under direction from the safety officer or handling a firearm anywhere other then a safe area is a match disqualification. You may handle loaded magazines and ammunition at your discretion at any location other then the designated safety area.
Rules - The match will be run under the most current IDPA rulebook, including any clarifications issued before the match date. This is an IDPA sanctioned match, it is the responsibility of the shooter to be knowledgeable of the rules and in compliance with the current IDPA rules including holster, cover garment and equipment other rules.
Lost Brass – This match is a lost brass match.
Alcohol – Alcohol is not allowed at CCGC and any violation of this rule will result in an immediate request for you to leave the range
Eye and Ear Protection – Eye and ear protection is required to be worn by everyone while on the range including spectators.
Stats Shack – The stats shack is off limits to competitors, staff only in the stats shack.
Water – Water is available in coolers located throughout the range
Lunch – Lunch is provided to the competitors as part of your match fee, lunch will be available for purchase for anyone else attending the match. We will break for lunch after the 5th stage approximately 11:30 and resume shooting at 12:15. Please bring lawn chairs, we have limitedseating.
Spectators – We encourage spectators and will allow pictures and videos to be taken during the match. However everyone must wear ear and eye protection while on the range and follow the directions of the Chief Safety Officer in the bay.
Special Categories – We will recognize Junior, Senior, Distinguished Senior, Lady, Active Military, Law Enforcement and Military Veteran. Awards will be given if there is at least three individuals shoot the match in the category.

SCENARIO: Camping with you buddy, you discover he has collaborated with a gang to steal your boat to pay a drug debt. Protect yourself from the armed gang and disable your boat.

SCENARIO: You are out for a Sunday drive when you run into a rowdy pack of bikers. They run you off the road and come back to make sure there are no witnesses.
