Streaming is based on MERIT!

Your overall results matters!

Overall Mark =

WA1 (15%) + WA2 (15%) + WA3 (15%)

+ SA2 (55%)

Specific additional requirements for some

subjects (eg Additional Mathematics)

There is still time to catch up if you have not

done well in WA1 & WA2!

ALL subjects are taken into account during

streaming.

Streaming Exercise

• Streaming Exercise will be conducted on-line in Term 4.

• Subject talks will be conducted in Term 4, just before the Streaming Exercise.

• Results of Streaming will be released in early November (during school holidays).

• Note: Choose your options carefully! Very low success rate for appeals.

• Make use of all the number of options given.

• There is no best combination for all students.

• When choosing the options, do consider the following factors:

- Your Aptitude

- Your Interests

- Your Career Aspirations

• Begin with the end in mind when deciding on the subject combinations to choose.

• Brief synopsis of each subject can be found in the Streaming Booklet which is emailed to every student.

• The subject combinations given in the Streaming Booklets are tentative. Actual subject options that will be offered will be confirmed in Term 4.

• Depending on the demand, not all the final subject combinations may be offered.

Subject Combinations

for 2022

• There are additional criteria for subjects such as Additional Maths, Pure Sciences, Pure Geography, etc.

• Students who are given Pure Science combinations (E1 & E2) must pass all Pure Sciences at Sec 3. Otherwise, they will be asked to drop a pure science or switch to a combined science.

• There is also no triple science combination at JC.

• Students who are offered 8 subject combinations (E1) will need to stay back on some days after normal curriculum hours. They will also have fewer periods for EL, Math, A Math etc.

Admission Exercises

Early Admission Exercise (EAE)

The Early Admissions Exercise (EAE) is an

aptitude-based admissions exercise that allows

students to apply and receive conditional offers for

admission to the polytechnics based on their

aptitudes and interests, prior to receiving their final

grades.

Joint Admissions Exercise (JAE)

Open to GCE 'O' Level holders, JAE begins the

same day as the release of the GCE "O" Level

results.
