The purpose of provision mapping is to provide an

inclusive curriculum

A Provision is:

• In order to ensure all young people are included we usually need to make available activities additional to, or different from, the usual Curriculum.

• These are the ‘Provisions’ we wish to map

Activity 1: Provisions 10-15mins

• Get into little Groups

• In your Group, take turns to:

1. say “Hi”

2.Tell folk your ‘name’ and ‘school’

3.Elect a scribe

– Write a ‘Group list’ of Provisions (5 mins?)

A Provision Mapping System should…

1. Link provision to individuals

2. Identify additional/different provision for the whole school

3. Calculate Provision costs

4. Record individual pupil targets and outcomes

5. Evaluate all your Provisions

• Organise provision clearly

• Target support effectively and efficiently

• Track provisions over time

• Quickly report provision information for: Annual Reviews, AEN, SpLD, PSPs etc

• Cost provision and manage the budget effectively

• Prevent over-provision in some classes and under-provision in others

• Provide clear and transparent information for LEA monitoring eg AEN Funding

• Evaluate your provision, and building this into the SEF/SIP
