School Times: 8.30 am to 2.50 pm

Duty begins at 8.10 am | No play in Kindy and PP Playground before school

8.10 am – 8.30 am Before school drop-off supervision

8.30 am – 10.25 am Classrooms open and Session One

10.25 am – 10.35 am Brain Break

10.35 am – 10.50 am Recess

10.50 am – 12.50 pm Session Two

12.50 pm – 1.30 pm Lunch

1.30 pm – 2.50 pm Session Three and school ends

2.50 pm – 3.10 pm After school pick-up supervision

Children must be dropped off and picked up on time

Punctuality and Absences

Arrive five to ten minutes before the bell to prepare for the day

ARRIVE LATE LEAVE EARLY ABSENT

If your child arrives after the 8.30 am bell

If your child leaves early before the 2.50 pm bell

If your child is sick or unable to attend school

Parent and child fill out a late slip at the office.

Child hands the late slip to their class teacher.

Parent fills out an exit slip at the office.

Hand the exit slip to the teacher when collecting

your child from class.

Or hand exit slip to duty teacher when collecting during recess or lunch.

Inform the school of child’s absence by 9.15 am by

phone, email or web form.

If you phone, you must also supply a signed and dated

note to the teacher.

Illness, Special Needs, Allergies and Medication

Children must not attend school if they are unwell

Is Medical Notification Form

different to Medical Action Plan?

Do not bring unwell children to school.

Inform the school of any allergies, special needs or medication.

Fill out a Medical Notification Form.

It is your responsibility to update the school of changes to your child’s Medical Action Plan.

Children with asthma or an EpiPen must have a Medical Action Plan.

Students are required to attend all major school events, such as Sports Carnivals and excursions, as well as

activities associated with a year group such as Retreats, NAPLAN and year

Food at School

CANTEENMonday, Wednesday and Friday

Online orders by 8.45 am (from website Families page).

Lunch bags with child’s name, year group and lunch order on bag with correct money, placed in classroom

basket by 8.45 am.

LUNCH

A healthy lunch such as a wrap, sandwich, salad, noodles or rice.

Teachers are not permitted to heat up food.

RECESS

A healthy morning snack such as cut up fruit, cheese, carrot sticks,

crackers or yogurt.

NO NUTS

No nuts or nut-based foods.

BIRTHDAYS

You are welcome to provide individual food items such as

cupcakes.

Uniform

MAKE-UP AND NAIL POLISHMake-up and nail polish are not to be

worn, this includes: Lip stick / lip gloss, nail polish, eye make-up.

JEWELLERY

1. A watch

2. One single chain with crucifix or medal of religious significance

3. Finger rings - baptismal or culturally significant finger ring. Rings must be smooth, free of protrusions and pose no danger of injury to the individual or others. Rings are subject to approval by the Principal

4. Earrings: only gold/silver sleepers and studs are allowed for pierced ears and are subject to approval by the Principal

HATS - Worn all year round

HAIR1. All children with hair longer

than shoulder length, which is past the eyes, ears and collar are required to tie it up or pin it back

2. Extreme hairstyles are not permitted

3. Hair is to be restrained by elastic band, only royal blue, black or white ribbons / hair ties are to be worn with the summer and winter uniform

Class Parent Representatives

You can become the parent rep on your own or you may like to pair up with another parent. Either way, it should not take up too much of your time. Your time and commitment is very much appreciated!

Things the Class Parent Representative can do:

• Welcome new families in your child’s class

• Help classroom teachers when needed

• Encourage parent involvement in the life of the school

• Support our P&F community when needed by finding parent helpers

• If possible, organise one social gathering per semester, such as meeting at the local park after school

• Attend P&F meetings if possible, twice per term

• Administrator of the year group’s Closed Facebook Group

Volunteer to be a Class Parent Representative – it is a valued and rewarding role!

1. Respect yourself, others and property (school and environment)

2. Listen to your teachers and follow directions quickly

Dealing with Minor Behaviour Incident

1. Issue first warning and redirect the student to appropriate behaviours.

2. Issue second warning, remove student from the group for five minutes to reflect and review. Speak with the child privately about their behaviour before returning them to the group

3. Issue third warning, remove from group. Student to complete a Reflection Card which needs to be signed by the parent. This then needs to be returned to the class teacher.

Should consistent misbehaviour occur, the teacher will request a parent interview.

Dealing with Major Behaviour Incident

Where a Major Behaviour incident occurs, a Major Behaviour Card may be issued immediately. The child will be sent to the office to speak to the Assistant Principal or Principal and a Major Behaviour Card will be issued.

At the Principal’s discretion a child issued with a Major Behaviour Card may:

• Be sent home immediately

• Have a one day at school suspension

• Be directed to miss out on recess play, lunch play or both

If a child is issued with a Major Behaviour Card the parents will be contacted and the incident discussed.

Major Behaviour Incidents include:

• Verbal abuse or discrimination

• Physical abuse or discrimination

• Disrespect of property, person or place

Dealing with Concerns

If you have an issue or concern regarding your child’s schooling, we ask that you approach the classroom teacher for clarification and / or solution.

We ask parents to abide by the following:

1. Make an appointment with the classroom teacher.

2. If you are not happy with the outcome of the meeting with the teacher, notify the teacher and make an appointment to see the Assistant Principal.

3. If you are still not satisfied with the outcome, make an appointment to see the Principal.

We treat each other and resolve matters with gentleness and integrity
