GUIDE
Feel free to visit all the subject areas you are interested in. Listed are all our subjects with the rooms they are located in this evening, together with a map to help you find your way around.
Also this evening ……• Visit our Library & Careers Centre to meet
the Principal, Phil Harland and other senior members of staff to answer any questions.
• Our Vice Principal, Donna-Marie Janson will also be available in the Main Reception.
• Our Additional Support Team are available in Room 14.2.
• Representatives from our two local universities are present in the Hall.
• Information about our Adult Education Programme is available from the Hall.
• Refreshments - available free of charge from our Library (2nd floor) or can be purchased from the Hone Room Cafeteria (1st floor).
• Our 2020 College Prospectus is available from the Hall or Reception.

IB Diploma or 4 A Levels A mixture of at least 7 GCSEs at Grades 6-9 including English, Maths and Science
3 A Levels A mixture of at least 6 GCSEs at Grades 4-9 including English
Level 3 Vocational A mixture of at least 5 GCSEs at Grades courses 4-9 including English
GCSEs and vocational At least 5 GCSEs at Grade 3 including Level 2 courses English
Any student who has not achieved a Grade 4 in GCSE English and/or Maths must include further study of these subjects in their programme.
Some individual subjects have their own specific entry grade requirements and these can be found in our main College Prospectus or on our website www.varndean.ac.uk
Varndean College, BHASVIC and Brighton Met together form the Accord Colleges. The three colleges have a coordinated application process in which you will not be able to make an application to both Varndean College and BHASVIC. You will only be able to make an application to one of these two colleges.

Following your GCSE results in August, you will then be invited in for a further Enrolment Interview in late August, at which the outcome of these results and your programme of study can be discussed and finalised.
Visit as many colleges as you can in order to make the right choice for you. If you decide to apply to Varndean College, you will need to fill in an online application form on the College website www.varndean.ac.uk. The online application form is available from mid-September.
The priority closing date for entry in September 2020 is Friday 6th December 2019.

Following the receipt of your application, you will be invited to attend an Application Interview, most usually in January or February, at which your application will be discussed in more detail and whether we can offer you a place dependent upon your predicted GCSE grades and school report.
June
If you are offered a place, then you will get invited to attend a New Students’ Day in late June.
Varndean College offers over 30 A Levels, a wide range of vocational BTECs, a small but significant number of GCSEs, as well as being the only state-run college in the area to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma.
