Welcome to Murwillumbah
On the banks of the Tweed River, Murwillumbah is the creative and cultural hub of the Tweed Valley. A vintage country town dotted with colourful art deco buildings, where local business owners have restored historic federation style buildings into cafés, restaurants and boutiques.
The character filled streets that adorn the township are home to
wholefood cafés, local designer shops, a regional museum and the
historic Regent Cinema.
Murwillumbah markets
Visit Murwillumbah Farmers Market, 7 to 11am each Wednesday at
the Murwillumbah Showground, to meet the producers, stock up on
homemade miso, wood fired sour dough and local cheese from the
many dairy producers of the region.
Murwillumbah Makers and Finders Market is an excellent venue for
artists, vintage wares and musicians from the Tweed Region.
Enjoy beautiful Knox Park and support local small businesses every
third Saturday of the month, 9am–2pm.
Held on the 4th Sunday each month, the Murwillumbah Showground
Market is hosted by the Tweed River Agricultural Society. Funds
raised are used to assist the Society to maintain the Showgrounds
in its current picturesque condition. Enjoy a leisurely stroll around
approximately 100 stalls with a great variety of treasures to purchase.

The Tweed Regional Museum Murwillumbah is located in the original Shire Council Chambers of 1915.
The award winning multi-million dollar extension and refurbishment of the facility restored the Chambers to its former glory and now flows into a spacious and modern exhibition area.
Vibrant permanent displays bring the Tweed’s history to life through stories of our past. Changing displays showcase the Tweed Regional Museum collection, along with contemporary stories about places, events and people significant to the Tweed community.
