A little about me:… This is my 4th year

teaching and my second full year in 3rd grade. My first 2 years were in preschool, and in 13/14 I took over this 3rd grade class when Mrs. Jenkins retired. I am very excited to be here! I am looking forward to an AWESOME year with your kids.

My husband, Curtis, and I have been happily married for a little over two years. He is a mechanical engineer at Lochinvar in Lebanon. We reside in Smyrna, and have one dog, named Pepper.

Take Home Binders

1. Please check and sign the agenda nightly. Feel free to write notes to me on there.

2. Spelling words will also be recorded in the agenda. If you they are absent, they can go to the class website to copy them down, or copy them from a friend the next day.

3. Suggestion: Pencil Pockets are great for the binders. You can place money, envelopes etc. in them and they do not fall out!

Take Home Folder:They have a green “Take Home” folder. Anything that comes home to you that is “work” can stay home. If I need it signed and returned I will mark specifically.

Attendance Coming to school everyday and being on time is very

important. Please send a note when your child returns to school after being absent.

Check In/Out Procedure Students arriving after 7:30 MUST be signed in by a parent,

and receive a tardy slip. Students leaving prior to 2:30 must be signed out through the office. When the student is signed out, the office will call the classroom and notify the teacher to dismiss the student to the office. Please remember that the front doors are locked from 2:00-2:45.

Also, checking a child out early will count as a tardy on their report card.

11:00 is the “magic time”... If your child is here before 11:00 or leaves after 11:00, they will be counted present for the whole day.

Please remember that to enter the building you MUST have your photo ID with you.

Transportation Changes• All transportation changes must be submitted

in writing prior to 1:30. Forms for transportation changes are available in the office, your child’s agenda, and our class webpage. We want your child to arrive home safely each day. You can help us achieve this by adhering to the guidelines.

• Car rider notes should name your child and teacher, and the person who will pick the student up.

• Bus riders are to be transported to and from the home address only. All bus notes should include your child's first and last name, the teacher name, and a phone number that can be used by the office staff to verify the requested change. Transportation notes must be signed by the party requesting the change. Bus drivers will not allow students to board a different bus or get off at a different bus stop without a signed note. These notes should be turned in to the office early in the day to avoid delays in dismissal. The school fax number is 904-6706. We can no longer accept emailed or phoned in notes.

Please don’t forget that T-shirt orders are due August 27th!!! The shirts cost $5.10, or 6.10 for xx large and xxx large.

It really helps us on field trips when they have on their t-shirt, but they are not required.
