Pulsed suction feeding:

The Morgana DigiFold Pro feeding table has a manifold which distributes air over the complete length of the sheet to give a generous pile height. Feeding from the bottom of the stack enables the Morgana DigiFold Pro to be loaded on the run, and minimizes set up time, ensuring greater productivity and complete practicality for even the shortest runs. Sheet size 385mm x 700mm (15.1” x 27.5”) with speeds over 5000 sheets per hour

Pulsed suction feeding:

Pulsed suction feeding electronically creates a gap between the sheets as they are fed. This gives greater control of the paper and more accurate creasing.

Side lay alignment:Sheets are aligned by an angled drive belt before they enter the feed rollers and creasing section to give complete consistency and accuracy of creasing and folding.

Ease Of Operation:

The DigiFold Pro uses Morgana's new patented flying knife and renowned creasing technology and is capable of handling weights in excess of 350gsm2 (150lb cover) and will put up to 16 creases on the sheet and 2 folds. A 'head up' display is intuitive in operation and is simple to use. All adjustments for crease position and fold position are from this controller. All adjustments for are from a centrally mounted control panel. Adjustments can be made to 0.1mm (0.003”)

Creasing Tool:The creasing tool is manufactured from tool steel and has a life time guarantee. The profile of the male and female matrix is engineered for consistent and accurate creasing. There are two thickness of blade available depending on the thickness of the media to be creased and then folded

Productivity:By simply editing the type of fold and sheet length the Digifold will automatically set up the Crease and Fold positions, the delivery wheel position and overlap rotation dependant on the finished folded media. This allows for higher productivity especially when frequently changing jobs.

Perforating:The Morgana DigiFold Pro has a swing up perforator fitted as standard. This simple to operate unit can be easily set up and adds additional flexibility to the operation of the machine.

Automatic Creaser:

The creaser uses Morgana's well renowned creasing technology and is capable of handling weights in excess of 350gsm2 (150lb cover stock) and will put up to 16 creases on the sheet. A 'head up' display is intuitive in operation and is simple to use. All adjustments for crease position are from this controller. All adjustments for are from a centrally mounted control panel. Adjustments can be made to 0.1mm (0.003”)

Bookletmaker:The Bookletmaker has automatic adjustment for sheet sizes and sheets are fully knocked up and held in position before the stitching heads activate. The bookletmaker can handle 22 sheets (88pp) books depending on weights of material. Stitching heads can be switched off if you need to produce 4pp creased and folded documents.

ApplicationAllows utilisation of the print & collating facility on the digital print engine. Creases cover & centre sheets to prevent cracking prior to automatically producing booklets.

Multi Functional Can be used as a creaser, perforator, folder for 4pp documents or a bookletmaker.

Camera RecognitionThe optional camera recognition system guarantees set integrity and allows variable data booklet production with complete confidence.

Clenching mechanism: The power clenching mechanism flattens the stitch to give both a professional appearance and also a more secure booklet.

Cassette stapling head: The cassette stitching head will hold 5000 pre cut wires and can be replaced in seconds

Low stitch indicator: An indicator light illuminates when the head runs out of wire and the machine will not operate.

Sheet alignment sensors:

The Booklet-maker has sensors which activate the machine only when the book is correctly knocked up from head to tail. A side jogger then aligns the book to the side. These sensors ensure that all books are correctly produced and

Fore-edge Trimmer: This gives a clean square fore edge to the finished booklet.

SBS Spine Press:The optional Spine press links to the Bookletmaker and trimmer and further enhances the appearance of finished documents. It gives a superior perfect bound appearance and square back to books but with additional bind security because of the stitches.

DigiCoater 50Modern UV curable liquid coatings are green(er).Due to the advancements in today’s

formulations,

UV curable liquid coating formulations are considered a green alternative in the graphic protection

and enhancement industry.

This is certainly true when you compare UV coatings to commonly used Polyester (PET),

Polypropylene (OPP) or Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC) film based overlaminates, since only some of

the newer biodegradable overlaminating films have similar green credentials.

Some of the ways that today’s UV liquid coatings are considerably more environmentally

friendly are:

UV liquid coating formulations are virtually free of volatile organic compounds (VOC)

and almost 100 percent solids.

This means that very little of the coating evaporates when it is dried and the small part that does

evaporate during curing is not harmful to the environment UV liquid coatings generate less waste.

Since there is no trimming and release liner involved, UV curable coatings create less waste than

film lamination.

Papers and corrugated boards, like ReBoard and X-board, coated with UV curable coating are

recyclable.

Page 33: Welcome to Morgana Riga – October 2010 Paul Williams – European Export Manager

DigiCoater 50According to a study commissioned by Radtech, an industry group for UV coating technology,

papers coated with UV coating can be recycled.

The blind study tested how effective normal recycling processes were in removing UV inks

and coatings from several different types of papers and concluded that paper coated with

UV curable liquid coating is recyclable. (Radtech Report, May/June 2005)

Composite Fold rollers:

The fold rollers are manufactured from a very hard wearing material which positively grips the paper and in most cases eliminates the need to adjust roller pressure when changing weights of paper or types of fold. If necessary, there are roller pressure adjustments contained within the roller assembly.

Fold Plates:

Morgana Major folders have a unique digital display on the fold plates which indicates the distance the fold plate stop is from the fold rollers. A display on the side guide shows the plate settings for the most popular sheet sizes and types of fold. The Dial-a-Fold settings enable the plates to be set without the need to lift or remove the fold plate covers

Morgana Docufold folders use a unique sheet measuring back stop to ensure the fold plates are set automatically to the correct position irrespective of the type of fold. The operator only needs to dial in the type of fold and the fold plates move automatically. For none standard folds the fold plates can by adjusted electronically and placed in one of the program memories for recall at any time.

Long stream delivery:

Because paper is returned to the feeding position, the Morgana Major has the largest delivery stacker in its class and this is without compromising on the compactness of the folder

Rotary Action

The Rotary action gives a huge productivity advantage over impact numberers. The sheets do not stop during the numbering operation. In addition, enhanced numbering quality is achieved because of the 'Point Contact' with the sheets. Unmatched numbering quality through a carbonless set.

Pulsed suction feeding:

Pulsed suction feeding electronically creates a gap between the sheets as they are fed. This gives greater control of the paper and more accurate creasing.

Ease Of Operation:

The Cardmaster uses Morgana's new patented flying knife and renowned creasing technology and is capable of handling weights in excess of 350gsm2+ (150lb cover stock). A 'head up' display is intuitive in operation and is simple to use. All adjustments for crease position and fold position are from this controller. All adjustments are from a centrally mounted control panel. Adjustments can be made to 0.1mm (0.003”).

Creasing Tool:The creasing tool is manufactured from tool steel and has a life time guarantee. The profile of the male and female matrix is engineered for consistent and accurate creasing.

Productivity:By simply editing the sheet length the Cardmaster will automatically set up the one Crease and one Fold position, the delivery wheel position and overlap rotation dependant on the finished folded media. This allows for higher productivity especially when frequently changing jobs. The fold can be turned off if the cleint wish's the greetings cards to be supplied flat but just creased.
