schools/Culinary Arts programs- Can be completed usually within 2 years.

Colleges typically 4 years. RESEARCH by going on the INTERNET.Check the deadlines to apply! ***Some are as early as Dec. 1st.

CAREER EXPOThis Thursday October 29th in the LPHS Student Center from

5:30-7:30 p.m. Local Businesses, some colleges and industrial

businesses will be there to offer information about careers in their organizations/colleges.

Open Admission: These colleges accept all students that apply to that school.

IMPORTANT: All students must still qualify to take college level classes based on TSIA test scores.

San Jacinto College offers free TSIA study help. Please contact them for info.

at any college in the state of Texas unless you are exempt

This is a College Level Placement Exam Determines what college level courses you will take See Ms. Brunson to see what days the test will be

offered at LaPorte HS Can Take the TSI Test at San Jacinto College

Uniform Admissions Policy Before you can be accepted in to a 4 year Public University in Texas

(even if you are in the top 10%) you must meet 1 of the following requirements:

Successfully complete the Recommended or Distinguished Plan * New HB5 Graduation Plan/Check with the college, most are fine with it if student has Chemistry & Physics.

OR SAT Score of: 1500 out of 2400 (CR+W+M)

OR ACT Score of: 18 English, 21 Reading, 22 Math, 24 Science

OR Submit the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board Exemption

SAT/ACT Scores (sent directly by the testing institution)

Official High School Transcript (Request one in registrar’s office) Fill out a transcript request form at

the end of the year to send a final transcript.

Application Fee can be $60 each (Fee waiver available to those on free/reduced lunch who used an SAT/ACT fee waiver)

the registrar, Julia Carter. Keep a copy for yourself IMPORTANT!
