Parent Classes
• Continue this year like last year with ESL and Computer.
• First 6 classes will be on Sept 10,17,24, Oct 1,8,15 on Saturdays between 9am-12noon.
• We will have two sessions, 1.5 hours each that will repeat. Parents can attend ESL in the first session and Computer in the second or vice-versa.

In order to pass a class, a student must have at least an average of D-

English 4 units, including English I, English II, English III, and English IV. In addition to courses listed here, only “AP English” or “college level language arts courses” will be considered as an acceptable English credit.
Mathematics 4 units, including Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II or equivalent and another higher level course.
Science 4 units, including 1 unit of biological sciences, 1 unit of physical sciences, and 1 unit of Chemistry
Social Studies 4 units, including 1 unit of US History and 1 unit of Government
Physical Education
½ unit
Health ½ unit
Foreign Language 2 units of same type
Electives 7 units, including 1 unit of Fine Arts and 1 unit of Business/Technology
• Total of minimum 100 community service hours
• Minimum cumulative GPA (CGPA) of 1.2• A passing score for every subject of the
Ohio Graduation Test (OGT)• No balance due
• The only credits Horizon Science Academy will accept from middle school (8th grade) are Foreign Language and Algebra I credits with a minimum of B (3.0) final grade.
• In order to achieve senior status, a minimum 18 credits is necessary.
• Only AP and college level courses will be considered as a replacement to required credits.
• Three Units of Foreign Languages of the same type is highly recommended.
