2. Sign in to Dropbox with your existing account. This is your private Dropbox password, not UiO password.

3. choose to merge your private files with the Frischsenterets Dropbox account if you registered your private Dropbox with Frisch email address. Or you could keep your private Dropbox separately from Frisch dropbox. You can always create a separate private dropbox later and keep your private files there.

6. You could choose using Text message or use a mobile app to set up two-factor authentication.

You could also set up an app on smart phone to handle two factor authentication. The advantage is when travelling, you might not always get SMS promptly from your mobile operator. It is recommended to use Google Authenticator. Download from App store or Google play store.

Click Set up app.

On your phone, open the app, click begin setup. Click Scan barcode. Allow the app to access camera, and scan the QR code on screen. The app will generate a 6-digit code you need to input on the dropbox webpage. Click Next.

You can note down the emergency code for recovery purpose. Click Turn on two-step verification. That is it. If you haven’t done so, you can download the Dropbox client to your pc.

The home directory of your Dropbox. The Team folders are created and managed by Team Admin, i.e. Administrators of Frischsenterets Dropbox Business. They are just like previous folders on N: disk. You are viewing folders that you have access to. Some folders and files you have read only access, and some you have edit access.

Below that are you private folders and files. It is just like your old M: disk.

You can create folders, upload files and delete contents, share folder and files with your coworkers or cooperators outside Frischsenteret.

On upright corner, you can click your avatar, and open a menu, you can click settings to setup your account, see your disk usage, manage your notifications, and much more.

To login again, example of using Google Authenticator.

When start up the Google Authenticator app, a Time limited one time code is generating continuously. This can be entered when prompt for second factor authentication on the Dropbox login page.

IMPORTANT

Go to your setting page, under Security page, fill in Backup method for your alternative two-step verification. If you choose app as two-step authentication method, fill in the backup phone number. You should at least have 2 possible methods for second factor authentications.

You could also write down the Recovery codes and keep them separately and safely.

Sync

It is not necessary to sync every folder on every device . Remember Team folders are automatically synced. You can choose what to sync what which files/folders to sync, by go to your dropbox client’s preferences window/menu, sync menu, and selective sync, to unselect the folders you do not wish to sync to your pc.

Smart sync

Smart sync is an Early access feature, which is enrolled by Team Admin. It enables users to only download the files/folders to the local hard disk as necessary. Admin default is the “online only”, as the new items are not pushed to user’s hard disk automatically. The Smart Sync can be choosed by user from right click context menu of the folder.
