    Dr. V.P.Dutta has been eminent scientist from DRDO with 28 years experience of

    Research & Development and Industrial Exposure. He is highly qualified

    Mechanical Engineer with PhD from I.I.T., DELHI and MBA. He has vast

    experience in Research & Development work and has won many awards for hiscontribution in National Level Defense R&D Programmes. He has contributed

    significantly in training persons in state-of-the-art CNC M/cs, CAD-CAM and non

    conventional machining processes

    Tool Room & Training Centre (TRTC) at Wazirpur Industrial Area,

    Delhi and Hi-Tech Vocational Training Centre (HTVTC) at Okhla

    Industrial Area New Delhi were established, with technical and

    financial assistance of Government of Denmark and Governmentof Italy respectively, with the objective of contributing towards the

    development of industries in and around Delhi through supply of

    trained manpower, undertaking job work of machining andmanufacturing of sophisticated tools. These centers were

    functioning as independent societies, registered under the societies

    registration act, 1860 each having separate Governing council and

    General body of the society.

    Delhi Institute of Tool Engineering (DITE) has been formed

    by the Industry Department of Government of NCT Delhi

    by amalgamation of Tool Room & Training Center (TRTC),

    an Indo Danish collaboration since 1978 and Hi-Tech

    Vocational Training Center (HTVTC), an Indo Italiancollaboration since 1989.

    DITE has been playing a pivotal role in the

    development of Micro, Small and Medium industries

    through supply of trained manpower in the field of tool

    making and tool designing, manufacture and supply of

    sophisticated tools such as dies, moulds, press tools, jigs, fixtures etc. for more than thirty years.

    course in Tool Engineering is being conducted. Bachelor of

    Technology Course (Tool Engineering) offered by the institute is

    approved by All India Council for Technical Education (A ICTE) &

    affiliated to GGSIP University , a university setup by NCT of

    Delhi, with a view to equipping the students in the field of

    vocational education.

    To turn the designs into real components, DITE has

    following CNC machine tools:CNC MACHINING CENTRE (MCM)CNC COPY MILLING MACHINECNC TURNING CENTRECNC GRINDING MACHINES

    Among other conventional machine tools for the

    similar purposes .DITE is in the process of

    modernization of manufacturing shop by adding

    CNC EDM,CNC WIRE-CUT. Here in DITE, we tryto teach the students to resort to CIM (computer

    integrated manufacturing) for better manufacturing.

    After 4 th semester students take training inDITE campus 1 to get exposure to all themachine tools, how things take place inworkshop and finally understand how adrawing on a paper turns into real thing.

    After 6 th semesterstudents take trainingfor 2 months in DITE campus II , where

    they do two designing projects namelyInjection mold design and Press Tooldesign. In the same duration , studentsvisit various companies to get betterunderstanding of Industrial environment.

    The last two semesters of training is

    devoted exclusively for the PROJECT

    WORK to be finalized in consultation

    with the industry these trainees are

    likely to join. These trainees can take

    up the work in Tool Design, Tool

    Room, Process Planning, Product

    Design/ Development & Vendor

    Developments departments of any

    engineering industry.

    DITE campus has got all the facilities and resources to turn a student into an

    Engineer, ranging from conference halls to library. In the library, all the books

    related to tool and mechanical engineering are available, all the latest magazines

    on similar topics are available to help the knowledge striving students.
