Animal Memorial Plaque
Our Biomedical Research Celebration
Dr. Paula Johnson thanked everyone for coming and presented the proclamation to Dr. Richard Powell, Vice President for Research.
Dr. Powell acknowledged the work that researchers and their staff do to further research in Arizona and the University and the great step having the Governor recognize the important research with this proclamation.
Dr. Vicki Chandler, Director of BIO5, described the important work being done at the UA and the many exciting plans for expansion.
Dr. Stuart Williams, Director of Biomedical Engineering and Arizona Research Labs complimented researchers for their continuing dedication to improving human and animal health and mentioned some of the recent accomplishments due to ongoing research at the UA.
Dr. Johnson presented the animal memorial plaque which will be mounted in each animal facility on campus to Dr. Donald DeYoung, Associate Director of University Animal Care. Dr. DeYoung described the contributions that UAC has made to research and thanks its many components.
Dr. Johnson thanked everyone for attending and asked everyone to join us for refreshments and to take some of the materials offered supporting research.
