Creative student cultureTeekkarit,or students who study technology-related subjects, are known for their active role in student life. Easily recognised by their overalls, the ‘Teekkarit’ organise all kinds of activities from parties to formals, publishing the Labour Day magazine and, of course, plan practical jokes for which they have become well known.
Killat (guilds)The Otaniemi campus is one of Finland's richest when it comes to student culture: students in every faculty or programme have organised themselves into organisations, or guilds, according to their area of study. In the 'killat', students can enjoy hobbies, organise parties, participate in various events, spend time and get to know other students.

Student culture with respect for traditionsThe School of Business' long history of tradition can be strongly felt in the creation and continuation of student culture. The Association of Economics Students in Helsinki (KY), is a parent organisation which monitors its students' benefits and organises all kinds of activities. KY is home to numerous clubs, committees and student organisations, where students at the School of Business, or 'kylterit' can enjoy themselves and find like-minded friends.
A wide range of events
During the academic year, KY organises events that have become traditions at the School of Business: at the start of the academic year, new students are welcomed to the school through 'mursujaiset', or 'Welcome Walrus' event, and the first practice formals. KY also organises parties throughout the academic year, as well as rowing and student events.
