Parent/Teacher Contacts

• We realize how vital communication is for consistency and success in a job-share situation. We communicate with each other daily through phone calls, e-mails, texting, and notes.

• To communicate with us, please use EMAIL and COPY BOTH OF US in all emails. We will be sending home much information by email, so please make sure we have an updated email address for you.

• We are available by phone but will not be able to get back to you as quickly as not all phone messages or voice mails are received in a timely manner. It is possible your student will need to call home in the middle of the school day, so please make sure we also have the best phone number to get in touch with you.

• Our SchoolWires website has not been updated, so we will let you know when it is active for 5th grade use. Also, we will be using a social media website called Edmodo for students to communicate with us. More information will follow soon.

• Please look at your student’s REMINDER BINDER each day for classroom updates. Your signature is required for full honor points.

How to help your child study-

- We all want to see our students succeed. Study habits are an important part of this. You can help.

Check agenda every night to see assignments. If nothing is written, then the child should call a study buddy to double check.

Reading Log, Language Arts, and Math will be assigned daily.

Weekly spelling tests, vocabulary tests, reading story tests, and math test should be expected.

All students MUST know their basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division facts. If your child has trouble with any of these facts, please help him/her by quizzing him/her frequently (while driving in the car, at dinner, sing the facts…. anything that will help the child to memorize them).

Cell phones and Electronic Devices at School:

-We realize that many of our students have cell phones. The teachers will enforce the district policy of prohibited cell phones turned on or out while a student is on campus. Students will need to use their phones off campus. The teachers are not responsible for keeping track of a cell phone.
