The UMC has wrestled with human sexuality since at least the early 1970’s.  After decades of impasse, a special called session of General Conference will receive recommendations in Feb., 2019.  Want to know more about what the Commission On A Way Forward is considering?  Wondering what options our Council of Bishops has in mind?  Come hear a presentation on this work on Wednesday, April 18 at 6:30pm in room 98 or on Sunday, April 29 at 9:45am in the Sanctuary or 11:00am in the Ministry Center.

For those of who signed up, HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

1. We will all meet at Vineville UMC at 7am for breakfast. After breakfast, teams will disperse to their work sites.

2. If you do/did not order lunch, please make sure that you bring a sack lunch with you. You will meet at the Ridge Ave. campus at noon for lunch.

3. There will be a team driving around to all worksites with free refreshments during the day. MAKE SURE YOU STAY HYDRATED!

4. Workers will need to bring their own gloves, etc. 5. You can plan to finish by 5pm.

Kairos Needs You!!!!

Kairos Prison Ministry at Baldwin State Prison in Milledgeville is preparing for Weekend #16 which will be held April 19th through 22nd. In the Spring of 2010 Kairos began at Baldwin State Prison with participation of about 50 prison inmates; for the past several monthly get-togethers attendance has been 250. Praise God!!

Kairos believes God has a plan to transform these men to become loving and productive citizens. Forest Hills UMC is vital to making this happen by covering this weekend with prayer – now through April 22nd. FHUMC children are helping bring light into the dark prison environment with their artwork. And, of course, homemade cookies are a way to express your Christian love to these men. If you are not a baker then 2L drinks are needed. Please leave cookies (packed 6 to a Ziploc) and drinks at the Mission cabinet by the canopy entrance by Wednesday, April 18th.
