AttendancePlease call the attendance line to report absencesArrival begins at 7:30 AMSchool day begins at 8:10 AMDismissal1st bell (round one busses) is at 3:00 PM2nd bell (round 2 busses, pickups, walkers) is at 3:05 PM

Absence/HomeworkIf youd like to pick up homework for your child, please call the office before 9:00 AMHomework will be ready for your child at the end of the day

WKCE TestingState testing dates occur between the end of October and early NovemberPlease make sure that your child is in attendance during these dates 3rd graders are tested in the areas of math and reading Testing is usually spread out over 5 days and occurs in the morning hours

Assignment Notebooksand Take Home FoldersPlease check these nightly and sign in the parent signature section.Theyre checked daily by your childs teacher. Students record their assignments in them each day.Its a great way to communicate between home and school.The take home folders come home nightly containing homework and important school documents. ClothingPlease refer to the Grand Avenue Dress Code to make sure your student is dressed accordinglyIt is a good idea to have a change of clothing, including a shirt, pants, and socksAthletic shoes are required on Phy. Ed. days

Math at HomeHomelinks come home most eveningsYou may check out an SRB (Student Reference Book) to use at home (Must be brought back to school each day.)Parent letters come home before each new unit to explain concepts. They include answers for parents to reference.Practice addition, subtraction, multiplication and division facts throughout the year

Rebecca SittonThe spelling program focuses on spelling patterns rather than memorizationWord previews are sent home with words that follow the spelling patterns focused on in the unitThere is a spelling review for each unit Take Home Tasks are sent home with each unit. They practice the same skill on the spelling review.

Healthy SnacksStudents may bring a healthy snack to eat before or after morning recess There is not a milk option in third grade with snackStudents may bring a healthy snack to celebrate their birthday if they choose
