A HOME OF STORIES & SO MUCH MORE
We began as the family home of Edsel and Eleanor Ford and their children Henry II, Benson, Josephine and William Clay. They moved here in 1928.
Edsel and Eleanor loved this place and they lived a life here. They played games, entertained friends and pursued their interests: gardening, photography and a shared love for art and design. To build the estate, they worked with artists and designers like architect Albert Kahn and landscape architect Jens Jensen. There’s a story around every corner.
Before Eleanor passed away in 1976, she willed Ford House to be opened publicly for the arts, families and the community. We continue her vision today, and our goal is to help you make the most of what Ford House has to offer.
