Assistance Program • MSRFAP – Medical Student/Resident Financial

Assistance Program – Educational Assistance Option (EAO - while training) This option is administered by Student Aid – Practice Assistance Option (PAO - while practicing) This option is administered by Health

What does this financial assistance entail?

• AMSFAP and MSRFAP are conditional grants that have Return of Service (ROS) commitments.

• The commitment is to practice in the Province of Manitoba for a specified amount of time in a rural or urban location.

• Note that MSRFAP conditional grants are location approved, AMSFAP are not. For location approved grants you would propose a location to Health.

• If you don’t work in Manitoba to fulfill the return of service, you must repay the grants in cash (with interest).

Return of Service (ROS) Commitment

• Full-time is defined as a minimum 35 OR 40 hours per week for 6 or 12 consecutive months

• ROS commitments are fulfilled consecutively in the order they were signed regardless of who they are with, e.g., RHA, communities, etc.
