Summer 2011
Loyalist College offers a special orientation for international
students
prior to the start of classes. This is an opportunity for you to
meet
other international students, become familiar with Loyalist
College
and the surrounding community and prepare yourself for a
successful
year at college.
At the orientation, you will receive your timetable, how to use
the
college information systems (email etc), what to expect in a
Canadiancollege classroom and how to sue your health insurance. You
will
also learn what services and facilities are available on campus
to help
you, how to use the local bus transit system and other
information to
help you settle into life in Canada.
The College Orientation Day is scheduled for Tuesday, September
7.
More information will be provided at the International
Orientation
Day.

International student fees include mandatory
health insurance while students are registered at
the college. This health insurance package is
available through Student Guard International
Health Insurance Program. For more information,
please refer towww.guard.meand follow the
links to the university/college policy plan.
Please note that this health insurance plan doesnot cover
routine dental care, so please arrange
to have all dental work done prior to arrival in
Canada. Please also ensure all your vaccination
records are up-to-date and you have that
information available upon arrival to the college.
Health InsuranceIf you are looking for assistance to arrange
accommodations in Belleville, you need to
contact the International Centre immediately
to make arrangements. There are a number of
homes in the community that welcome
international students along with an off campus
student residence that is close to the college.
Rooms are still available in our on campus
Residence too!
