• 1465 of 2580 Students worked on campus last year -56%

• 745 of 2580 averaged 8 or more hrs/wk – 28%

• 545,000 hours worked on campus• $4.8 million in student labor• Recommend students work 8 to 12

hours/wk• Most important: schedule and skills• Implemented policies to allow more

student jobs

• Required forms in Human Resources– Form I-9: Employment Verification – Required documentation– W-4 (withholdings)– Direct Deposit Form (with voided check)

• Payment – Every other Friday– Default 75% on account – 25% to bank

• Work Study Students

University Health Center• Jesus said “I have come that you

• Primarily here to support your son or daughter to have that abundant life

• Under the supervision of a physician – available for prearranged appointments

• Physician assistant and nurses work regular office hours

• Open to all current students of Southern regardless of type of insurance

University Health Center (cont.)

• Services Offered:– Acute Care– Minor illnesses– Minor injuries– Immunizations– Physicals and GYN exams (may request female NP 2x’s/month)– Lab tests– Limited screening for depression and anxiety– Psychiatrist Wednesday afternoons (must first see the PA)– Allergy injections– Mole, wart and skin tag removal

• Appointments preferred/walk-ins welcome

Support Nurse

Encouraging physical, mental, social, and spiritual health among the students by building positive rapport and establishing an in-house presence• Following up: ER, Urgent Care,

injured, sick, recovering, students of concern

• Assisting students: get help, and where

• Providing health education on a 1:1 basis

• Offering a safe, confidential listening ear

UHC After Hours HELP

• Call Collegiate Assistance Program at 877-643-5130 available 24 hours, 7 days a week Listen to the prompts and say “talk with a nurse” for non-emergency questions

UHC and Insurance• UHC pen to ALL current students at

SAU regardless of the type of insurance coverage

• Any charges posted to the student’s bill

• Ask for walk-out statement - private insurance

• Student Insurance automatically charged unless proof of coverage provided on form

• Cost $768 annual; less for single semester
