OPENING THE WORLD TO EVERYONECruising is the perfect choice for special needs travelers

Cruising is the optimal way for a special needs traveler to see the world. The advantages are even more pronounced if you are wheelchair-bound. Let’s take a look at the Top 10

reasons why cruising is your best choice!

1. You’ll unpack just once for your entire vacation! The suitcases are then stored out of sight for the remainder of your cruise. The cabin steward will help you if you are

unable to do it yourself. Better yet, in wheelchair accessible cabins, the clothes bar is low to enable the wheelchair traveler to reach his or her clothing. The vacation is relaxing for everyone in your group. Unlike other forms of travel, no one gets stuck loading the car

every morning and unloading it every night. Best of all, you never have to move rooms!

2. All meals and entertainment are included in the cost of the cruise! You

won’t find yourself in the awkward situation where you sit down for a meal, look at the menu, and realize you cannot afford what you want. There aren’t any limits to how much you can eat and all of the entertainment is first-class. Typically you’ll get to enjoy two or

three shows during a seven day cruise...now that’s entertainment!

3. There’s something for everyone in the family. You can relax by the pool...and some cruise lines feature “zero entry

pools” or lifts to allow wheelchair bound travelers into the pool. There’s always a library stocked with books. You can watch movies in a theater setting or in the privacy of

your stateroom. And you can always find something to eat...and remember, all of the food is included!

state-of-the-art fitness centers. The cruise staff even offers incentives for those who want to stay in shape. Some classes are even tailored to travelers who

have to stay in their wheelchairs to exercise. It’s easy to stay involved!

5. World-famous chefs abound!

You can enjoy free demonstrations and get free tips from their culinary arts

centers. If food’s your thing, you’re really going to enjoy your cruise!

6. World-class art abounds! The

major cruise lines are well-stocked with art displays. Some even feature art auctions for those looking to buy.

7. You can learn about the areas

you’re cruising to. Some of the

cruise lines offer lecture series or classes on the areas you’re visiting, far beyond the surface details you get from travel

books and brochures. Well-respected experts teach these informative classes.

8. You can get your groove back!

Some cruise lines offer ballroom dancing. For those of us with two left

feet, many offer classes to help us out!

9. Your favorite things. What are you into? There just might be a “theme

cruise” for you, catering to your special interests. Here are some popular themes: Big Band music, Broadway

theater, Christmas, Country and Western, Pearl Harbor Memorial, Epicurean/Food & Wine, Golf, Maya

Equinox, Murder Mystery, Personal Finance, Rock ‘n’ Roll, Solar Eclipse, Spiritual Retreat, Thanksgiving, Spring Break, and Valentine’s. See, there’s

something for everyone!

10. Cruising is the best bang for

your buck! Use the helpful table on this page and compare the cost of your

cruise vacation with other forms of

travel. You’ll quickly see why cruising, with free, top-notch food, a wealth of free entertainment, and a plethora of things to do can’t be beat.

The mountains of Southern Alaska

Something for Everyone

Would you like to bask in the warmth of the tropical Caribbean,

explore the majestic glaciers of Alaska, or unlock the mysteries of

the Amazon jungles? While you're there, would you like to

rekindle a romance, have fun with your family, or just get away

from it all? No matter what you're looking for in a resort vacation,

your best value is a cruise!  Snail's Pace Special

Travel Services will take the time to check and then

recheck all your travel arrangements to make

sure all of your special needs are met.  We

do not charge extra for this service.  We just

want you to have the cruise vacation of your

life, so you will tell everyone else about it.

C R U I S I N G I S F O R E V E R Y O N EWhere do you want to go?

Sometimes, the hardest part of planning a cruise is to decide which one you want to take! We can help you narrow it down!

The CaribbeanYou don’t need a lot

of time to have a great time in the Caribbean. You can sail to the islands

you’ve always dreamed of visiting with our wide array of itineraries that

include the Caribbean’s most popular islands...and some hidden treasures, too! We’ll help

you pick the ship and itinerary that most appeal to you. Options include 3- and 4-night cruises to the Bahamas and Western Caribbean, 7-night cruises to the Eastern, Western or

Southern Caribbean, and 10- or 11-night Grand Caribbean cruises to help you see it all. We’ll help you pick the perfect trip!

The Mexican RivieraWhen it is freezing in your area, the

Mexican Riviera is calling your name! In case you're wondering, this is what it feels like to be a millionaire. Have you ever felt this good? Think hard. Is this

the same person who works too much and sleeps too little? In a word, no. This new you has awakened to a warm

sun reflecting off a turquoise ocean. Your lungs are taking in huge, greedy gulps of the disarmingly pure air. You've completely forgotten that you're grumpy in the

morning. Armed with this new outlook, the new you just might have an early workout. Enjoy a leisurely swim. Or, for once, have a nice, unhurried breakfast. You decide you like this new you. Snail's Pace Special Travel Services offers you 7 or 10-11

night cruises. ¡Si! Voyage down Mexico's "gold coast". Take advantage of swimming, sunning, snorkeling, horseback riding, bargain shopping, and more!

The MediterraneanLong ago, Mediterranean

meant middle of the earth.  At one time it was the center of all activity, from trade to

exploration. Now, it is the heart of fascination of all who travel there. How long ago

was it  that you tossed a coin in the Trevi Fountain; caught the bouzouki rhythm in Greece? How long has it been since you

discussed the talents of Titian or Michelangelo?

C R U I S I N G I S F O R E V E R Y O N EThe Baltic - Russia and Scandinavia

There is nothing like the awesome stillness of a Norwegian fjord or the hustle and bustle of  Helsinki, Finland; Stockholm, Sweden;

Copenhagen, Denmark.  Be in complete awe of St. Petersburg, Russia.  Stand where the cold war

came to an end as the Berlin Wall came tumbling down.  There is just nothing like this cruise vacation.  So much of our history is told in this magnificent

cruise.

HawaiiThey say it all happened when volcanoes rose from the sea.

Soon, trade winds scattered the seeds that grew into incredible

flowers, bamboo and fragrant papaya. Today, come to Hawaii for the unexplainable, the utterly magical, and find bright anthuriums growing wild, volcanic peaks soaring to 14,000 feet

and vibrant poinsettias when it isn't even Christmas. For all the similarity, each island has

its own distinct personality: like Hawaii, the big island, with Kilauea's crater where some say Pele, the fire goddess, lives; Maui, with remote

swimming spots so beautiful, they were once reserved solely for Hawaiian royalty; Kauai with its

spectacular beauty and soft white beaches and known as the "garden island"; and Oahu, home of Waikiki Beach and Honolulu, where cliffs and waterfalls are

often visited by spectacular rainbows. Known as the surfing island, its nightlife is lively and hip with world-class restaurants.

BahamasBeautiful turquoise waters with colorful fish

that invite you to snorkel.   Gorgeous beaches to bask in the tropical sun.  Don't forget the famous Straw Market of Nassau

or the underground aquariums of Atlantis!  All of this is just a cruise away!

PanamaIf the Seven

Wonders of the World were expanded to say,

ten, then the Panama Canal would surely be among them. It has been said that the excavation alone would be equal to digging a trench ten

feet deep from New York to Los Angeles.Today, passage through the man-made locks still provokes

wide-eyed amazement - as do the vibrant orchids of Costa Rica,

the duty-free treasures of Curaçao, the silky sand beaches of Aruba, the native crafts of St. Thomas, and the glittering nightlife of Acapulco.

During your cruise you can enjoy a wide variety of ports of

call as well as daytime transit of the canal. Celebrate your crossing while anchored for a deck party. This is a great time!

Alaska

Alaska's lofty heights lie

spread before you when

you cruise the Alaskan

Seas. From private rail

car, from luxurious

lounge coach, and from

elegant cruise ship, we bring you the Great Land's mountains in

maximum comfort.

When you come to Alaska, you're eager to see the wildlife for

which the state is famous. Your cruise will present you with so

many chances to view wild animals, from grizzlies to goats, from

moose to marmots, from whales to warblers...now that’s a cruise!

You can choose Alaskan cruises or cruise tour packages to explore

Alaska.  It all depends on the amount of time you can spend in

this vast, pristine land.  If you have but 7 days, then the Inside

Passage up through Glacier or Hubbard Bay is ideal for you.  If

you have longer, then you could combine a luxurious cruise with a

land tour package to go inland to Denali Park and beyond.  The

choices are huge!  The state is beautiful!  The sights beyond your

imagination! Just ask your travel professional to plan your trip.

Travel Tips for the Special Needs TravelerSome ideas to help make for a smooth trip

Traveling with medications, syringes, or disability equipment. Although not required, we have found that having a recent note from your doctor can help alleviate some of the pains of travel, especially when it comes to security checks. If you’re traveling with medications and especially if you have syringes, we highly recommend the note to explain your needs. All medications should be clearly labeled and in their original containers.

Security inspections. Wheelchairs are subject to close inspection. If you are unable to stand, a pat-down search is entirely possible and is legal.

Assistance Dogs. If you have an assistance dog, they can travel with you. Cruise lines provide resources for them, such as places to relieve themselves. We recommend minimal food/water immediately prior to airline travel. Ensure they are up-to-date with vaccinations. Have their paperwork readily available. In some cases, the dog may not be allowed into another country or port of call. We can help you plan ahead and to understand any restrictions in advance.

Wheelchairs and Scooters. Attach labels with your name and contact information to all removable parts of the chair, as this helps get any lost pieces back. Get your wheelchair or scooter service prior to travel to guard against an unexpected breakdown during
