This course is designed to provide students with an introduction to the content that is included in

the AP World History course, including an exploration of historical themes, global forces,

and specific events from ancient Mesopotamia, Greece, Rome, India, the Americas and China as a part of modern history. In additional to learning fundamental historical thinking and writing skills,

students will be taught and are expected to engage in class discussions, debates, and

presentations in preparation for future success.

The focus of this course is to introduce students to the systematic study of patterns and

processes that have shaped human understanding, use, and alteration of Earth’s surface. Students will learn to employ spatial concepts and landscape analysis to examine human socioeconomic organization and its

environmental consequences. Students will also learn about the methods and tools geographers

use in their research and applications.
