Live Auction Rules

The Live auction will begin after dinner and continue until all items have been auctioned. All bidding must be done by raising your program catalog (number on back) to attract the attention of the auctioneer. Do not let anyone else use your paddle number, it is registered in you name.

The high bidder will be determined by the Development Office. In the event of any dispute, the Development Office will have the final decision.

Cashiers will not be available to accept payments until the close of the Live auction.

Silent Auction Rules

You have been given a bid number on the back of your program catalog. All bidding must be done with your bid number.

All items have bid sheets nearby with a corresponding number. The minimum bid will be found on the bid sheet.

Please be sure the bid sheet you are writing on is for the item you wish to bid on!!! To bid on an item, write your bid number and bid amount on the next available blank line on the bid form.

The opening bid must equal or exceed the bid stated on the top of each bid sheet. Each increase in bid must equal or exceed the minimum increase figure stated on the bid sheet to be a valid bid.

The bid number of the highest bidder will be circled by an auction official at the close of the auction. In the event of a dispute, the Development Office will make the final decision.

Check Out

Payment in full is mandatory for all auction items at the close of the evening.

All auction items are to be paid for at the auction bank and removed from the building at the end of the evening. Pick up the item from the Silent Auction table and show your receipt. Certificates and gift cards will be given to you at the bank after check-out.

You may pay by cash, check, MasterCard, Visa and Discover. Checks should be made out to: Sisters of St. Francis of the Immaculate Conception or Heading Avenue Franciscans.

LA7 Steamer Trunk - The trunk belonged to Sr. Anna

Marie Scheirer who died in 2014 at the age of

88. She came to the convent from Metamora in 1951

and brought the trunk with her. It would move from

convent to convent as Sister changed assignments

through the years. In earlier years, before we had our

own "convent cars" it could have been shipped.

Otherwise, it later years it would have been moved in

someone's pickup truck. That's probably how it was

moved most often since she came in 1951.
