Price Increase for MG Niches Deferred The Memorial Garden Committee (MGC) was made aware that some parishioners were interpreting Clause C-3 of the MG Space/Niche Purchase Agreement to mean that if they were not interred within 25 years of the purchase they would have to repurchase the agreement at the then current price. On June 30, the Vestry approved a clarification proposed by the MGC to make it clear at the 25-year mark, the purchaser simply has to verify that the agreement is not being abandoned.

Since there is no way to determine how many people were deterred from buying an agreement because of the negative implications of the prior C-3 Clause, the MGC proposed that the price increase from $1,000 to $1,500 scheduled for July 1, 2015, instead be deferred until October 1, 2015. The Vestry approved the delay, giving parishioners a chance to reevaluate any decision to not purchase a niche at the $500 savings.

Therefore, the price of a niche will rise to $1,500 on October 1, 2015, NOT July 1, 2015. Submitted by Larry Richards, MGC Chairperson

Now that the rain has stopped, the painters can paint the light poles in the Steck Ave. lot. This job has been pending for months and we are looking forward to get-ting it completed! We are closing the parking lot the week of July 20 so the painters will not have to concern themselves with vehicles blocking their access or getting splattered with gray paint. The Mesa parking lot will be available.

Synthesis Today Quote

The greatest treasure next to God is a good will in this world; even if all has been lost, by it all can be regained. —Angelus Silesius.

Synthesis Today is a free service that provides quotes for the upcoming Sunday Sermon based on the Revised Common Lectionary. Feel free to pass it on. Submitted by Christine Havens

Dear Friends, Christian and I invite you to write a maximum 500-word story (2 pages double spaced). We are interested in how you share your Christian faith. Specifically, we want to hear how God leads you to reach out and support others. Why? Because we want to know what you all are doing with the faith that has been commended to you! Cer-tainly not to check on you in some way but to hear your stories to encourage us your clergy and, perhaps, to encourage fellow parishioners to take action on their faith and beliefs. Your story could be about your workplace, home life, church ministry, anything or anywhere. We want to hear how you find the sacred in the mundane, how your faith informs even the seemingly insignificant decisions you make on a daily basis. Resist an inner voice that says "others do important things, what I do is really nothing". The Spirit is at work in our lives in spreadsheets and time sheets, drop-off lines and picket lines. We want to hear about your actual experience. There is nothing too big or too small, seriously. A corollary - this is not a competition. Your story stands on its own. There is no age limit on this. Parents of young children may want to help their kids tell their story. Kids often share their faith in unaffected ways and those stories are important to hear. What will Christian and I do with these stories? 1). We will read them. 2). Once we have read them all we will contact everyone that submitted and will make a proposal about their potential use. Nothing submitted will be printed or used in any way without the approval of the author. The stories will be emailed to me at [email protected]. This will be a July/August project for the parish. We invite submittals beginning immediately and ask for sto-ries to be submitted by August 15. I invite you to email me or Christian, [email protected], if you have questions; and even if you don't have questions, one of us would love to hear if you are planning on writing so that we can look forward to reading your essay! And by all means, have fun! Merrill and Christian

Second Invitation—This is a reminder that we want to read your faith stories. We have received 7 wonderful

essays and would love to read a dozen more!
