  • SCOUTING THE HUSKIES: Washington enters the game with an overall record of 20-13 after defeating Oregon State, 55-49, in the Sweet 16 round of the WNIT this past Tuesday. The Huskies are currently riding a three-game winning streak. Washington leads the all-time series at 1-0, a 77-61 decision in Washington. Re-gina Rogers paces the team's offense with a 16.8

ppg average, while shooting .594 from the field. The only other Husky averaging double figures is Jazmine Davis, who is scoring 16.0 ppg.

LAST TIME AGAINST WASHINGTON: Cameo Hicks scored a career-high 26 points and Andrea Plouffe added 13 as Washington defeated San Diego, 77-61, in the first round of the Husky Classic at Seattle’s Bank of America Arena on Nov. 26, 2005. After seeing its 14-point second-half lead cut to just two, at 57-55, with 7:02 to play, Washington responded by holding the Toreros to just one field goal over the reminder of the game, sparking a 20-7 run to put the game at its final of 77-59 hole. Senior guard Tiara Harris scored 18 points to lead San Diego.

WOODY HAVING A GREAT POSTSEASON SO FAR: Senior guard Morgan Wood-row has been a driving force behind the Toreros success in the WNIT this season. Woodrow has snapped out of her recent slump, and put together back-to-back outstanding offensive performances. Woodrow led the team in scoring with a 27-point outburst against Pacific in round two, and she followed that up by once again pacing the Toreros with 17 points in Thursday's win over Texas Tech. Woodrow remains USD's second leading scorer with an average of 13.1 ppg.

KAME HAS ANTHER BIG GAME: Sophomore guard Amy Kame put on quite a performance in Thursday's win over Texas Tech. Kame ended up with 14 points on 4-of-11 shooting, and all 14 points came in the second half. With Dominique Conners in foul trouble and having to sit for six minutes, Kame simply took over. Kame began to feel it at about the 13-minute mark in the second half and she went off, helping USD overcome all the come back attempts the Red Raiders were throwing at the Toreros, and USD never surrendered the lead, thanks in large part to Kame's play in the second half.

TOREROS SLAPPING ON THE D: San Diego’s defense has been huge this season, as they currently lead the West Coast Conference in scoring defense, as they only allow 56.2 ppg. The turn around was the fourth best in the nation. Under her tutelage, the Toreros placed three players on the All-WCC lists highlighted by Amanda Rego being named the WCC Co-Player of the Year.
