Message from the Principal
End Of Term 3 This Friday will see the end of what has been a very different but productive term at Dubbo North Public School. We have had to change the way we conduct the daily running of the school on numerous occasions throughout the term as the restrictions continued to evolve. I’d like to particularly thank our school community for adhering to these restrictions; over the years we have strived to create an open and welcoming school, and then in Term 3 we were not allowed to have any parents on the school site. Hopefully after a restful and relaxing break things will return to normal and we can welcome everyone back into school again.
NAIDOC This Thursday we will be celebrating NAIDOC at school with a very fun filled and action packed day. We’ll be having a flag raising ceremony followed by normal lessons and then recess. After an early recess at 11:00am we will be doing the Acknowledgement to Country and then watching our Infants and Primary dance groups perform. After this we will then be participating in some culturally based activities, such as traditional indigenous games, Johnny cake cooking, scratch art, weaving, face painting and a show of indigenous artefacts. It promises to be a great day so watch out early in Term 4 in the newsletter for lots of photos of the day.
SistaSpeak and Boys Group Both of these groups have completed their projects for the term and they have turned out beautifully. The girls made some lovely wooden jewellery boxes and NAIDOC earrings and the boys created some leather keyrings and DVD holders. Thanks to Mrs Taylor and Miss Sutcliffe for looking after the girls and Mr McLean and Mr McAuliffe for looking after the boys. Next term we will be conducting BroSpeak with Mr Shipp and Mr Fernando and Girls Group with Miss Harcourt and Mrs Cooper. Wiradjuri We have been fortunate enough to have Mr Andrew Taylor and Miss Ferguson teach

Wiradjuri at school over the past few weeks in Mr Forbes’ absence. Students have been engaged in storytelling, traditional indigenous games, Johnny cake making and eating and other cultural lessons. Thanks to these 2 for stepping in filling the role so Wiradjuri lessons could continue in Term 3.
COVID Restrictions On Monday the 5th October, second Monday of the holidays, the Department of Education will be releasing Term 4 guidelines regarding restrictions in schools for the term. Hopefully this will see overnight excursions back on the agenda and parents allowed back on site. I’ll pass this information on as soon as I receive it.
Moana Production Thank you for everyone’s patience with regards to the production and the uncertainty of the presentation of it. We’re holding off as long as possible in the hope people can attend it in person and once a decision is made we will do our best to inform the school community.
Have a safe and relaxing holiday break; we welcome back students on Monday 12th October.
Toby Morgan, Principal.

Look how the front of our school has changed! (Left) In 2006 the SRC donated the lovely arch & roses for the entrance to our school. (Right) Now the banksia
rose has climbed over the arch and at this time of year is in full bloom. All the trees have grow significantly. Thanks to Mr Munro, the roses are looking very healthy and will soon have a colourful display.
Monday Morning Assembly (Left) Congratulations to the new Students of the

Mrs Anderson recently bought her Switch to school & spent some time in
the library, showing the boys the games that she plays on it.
The Moana rehearsals are coming along nicely & sets, costume and props are being made, sewn and painted. Everyone is very busy.
