Bob’s Thoughts...

BOUGHT WITH A PRICE

“You are bought with a price; therefore, glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” I Corinthians 6:20

But what was the price? Who paid it? Jesus did. Christ paid the price, and bought you! The exchange rate was astronomical. It cost Him His life. That’s what the cross is all about. Christ paid the ultimate price for you and me; He died for us. He sacrificed His own precious life to pay the price for our sins and deliver us from Satan’s dominion. But that’s not all; then, God raised us up together with Him so that we might live with Him forevermore! You are God’s pos-session by virtue of redemption. Now you belong to Him. You’re His prize possession, and He is glad to have you. Just think, we were spiritually dead; our life had been ruined by the degradation and the corruption of sin. We were damaged goods and worthless in the eyes of the world. But to the Lord, we were worth dying for. He proved it by going to the Cross with our sins. He restored us to be whole in Him. That’s why Christ is known as our Savior and Lord. He is our life, our all. Now, who is Christ to you? Do you remember to thank Him for being your Savior? He paid the ultimate price for you. Christ gave His life for you so that He could live His life through you. But it requires an exchange. We must exchange our life for His. We must pick up our cross and follow after Him. Our life, in exchange for His life. Have you made the exchange yet? If you will trust in Him, He will provide for you. You are bought with a price. Therefore, glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.

Have a Great Week!

Bob

All participating children will paired up with new Watchman for the next two-year cycle. Of course, if you have been a Watchman, the new cycle doesn't mean you can't continue your relationship with your current child! It just means your "family" is expanding! Forms are available in the office or at the table in the Fellowship Hall.

FOCUS Group The Cummings FOCUS Group is scheduled to meet Sunday, September 13th, at 12:30 PM in the Back-Door Classroom.

Thank You

Thank you so much for the visits, prayers, beautiful cards and your concern during my heart episode. It is a blessing to be part of a loving church family.

Maudie Foster

We wish to express our thanks to all of the diligent woodcutters who worked so hard to clear our pasture last Sunday afternoon. A special thanks goes to the tractor driver, Dodd Vinson, and all of the wonderful Christian attitudes from everyone. May God’s blessings rest upon each of you. A special thanks also goes to the ladies: Lisa Bateman, Dawn Russell and Emily Sapio!

The Family Life…

Thank you to all who participated in our church-wide Day of Service last Sunday evening!! We had well over 50 people who painted, cut, hauled, sheet-rocked, wrote, encouraged and prayed! Plus a gaggle of kids who just had a plain, good ol' time! Then, many of us sat down to a fellowship meal of thanksgiving for the tasks with which God had blessed us. Be sure to visit our website to see pictures: http://southmainchurch.com/index.php/ministries/day-of-service. Mark your calendar now for the next sched-uled Day of Service (5th Sunday), November 29th.
