Weekly outline
For the next two weeks, we are going to look at advertisementsand how they influence us. We will be watching and analysingfeatures of some famous TV advertisements, paying particularattention to the use of powerful verbs, adjectives andexaggeration. We will create success criteria for an amazing advertto promote healthy eating. We will be making a fruit salad out ofour favourite fruits and we will be writing, acting out and filmingour adverts. These activities will not only teach us how to usepersuasive devices in our writing, but will enable us to practise ourspeaking, listening and acting skills.So get ready for Camera! Action!

Tuesday 30th June 2020.LI: To describe tastes of fruit using strong adjectives.
Task
1. Gather the fruit you would like to taste. 2. Wash them well. 3. Wash your hands well before handling food.4. Arrange your chosen fruit – at least 4-5 pieces- on the table.5. Look at the fruit very carefully and write the adjectives, to describe what
these fruit look on the outside noting down their colour, size and shape. Use the recording sheet on the next slide.
6. Then cut each fruit and see what the fruit looks like on the inside. Record the adjectives.
7. Next, smell the fruit.8. And finally taste the fruit. Remember to record your adjectives.

Task
Watch your favourite food advertisement again. Note how quickly scenes change and the camera moves close to and far from people and objects.
Today you are going to create your cartoon script which you will follow to make and film your fruit salad advert. Draw the pictures and label what your camera will show. Consider the place and the characters in your short advert.
